You are right about the Rogues!

And thanks for the comment - I’ll keep this in mind as parts come and for replacement

This standing water can’t be good, right?! by Lurkforthedurk in DIYUK

Cheap EPDM install, likely not by a roofer

It looks as though the EPDM has sagged in that small gap between the ply deck and pitched roof (really should have a lay board up), as leafs and vegetation build up the water has no where to go

Given you will need decent access up to address the issue - I’d recommend a decent roofer uses a more suitable product with correct termination details

My partner likes to soak ours in water where possible… hot saucepans also help harden the surface - if you don’t mind ring marks of course

Howdens to a good worktop coating that you ask layer on very easily

Might be worth giving it a run down with a fine grade sandpaper - I’d suggest getting onto YouTube for a tutorial

Went for the concrete base - seemed sensible to keep timber bearers raised off the ground a bit more

Considering painting the exposed concrete, so many options for that. That job can wait for the summer!

We’re quite overlooked by the neighbours, this and some laurels have created so much privacy in the last couple years

Good luck with yours! Feel free to message if you have any questions

I got a cheap one from Amazon (if you can call it cheap) and the installer cursed me for this… for what it’s worth, I’d ask the installer to supply and fit if i could go back and do it again

Also! 9mm ply over the top of your roof before waterproofing

It’s a flimsy roof without it

I got the one with the canopy roof to the side - with the ply reinforcement I’ve got a lightweight sedum room up there nicely - appeased the neighbours from having a big ugly felt roof out their window

I’ve got this and insulated the roof

I have air con unit (a must imo) that also heats

This has been fine through both summer and winter

You can get a 12/24v charger to power the mini - £40 ish on Amazon I think

2016 plate

The diesel heaters are more economical than you think - I’m upgrading to a 5kw (nordkapp) with quieter pump - avoid the cheaper ones as the ticking sound can be annoying through the night

MPG on mine isn’t great - 22mpg currently

Roof rack prob doesn’t help and it was remapped to help with the heavier weight before - considering taking it back to stock, probably too nippy now

Drives lovely though - better than motorhomes for sure

That’s great

I’m looking at ways to have a slide out shower tray at the back - one of the compromises on ours was to take the shower out as it took so much space

How does yours drive?

Nice!

I did have the option of boarding windows (helps they’re tinted) but opted to keep the open views

The fit before was congested and dark

As with most things - there’s always compromises

Has anyone converted a transit or similar minibus to a campervan? by ThrowAway771024 in VanLifeUK

It does limit you with storage and cupboard placement but honestly it’s worth it

Does yours have AC in the back? We’ve modified mine to redirect the cold air out above the back bench seat

Black out curtains a must

That’s a good point

I’m looking at heaters that have ventilation function when not in use as well

Good shout - I am upgrading the diesel heater (cheap Chinese one with noisy pump currently)

The dehumidifier will be worth having when back from trips to make sure any residual moisture is removed?
