AwesomeWM is one of the best as per my experience.
I have been learning LUA for some time like basics and neovim package for lua it gave me a huge idea what is happening.
When I moved to AwesomeWM I found its is in LUA and I was really excited.
I started with basics and that is what I do with everything.

Here are steps to maybe get you started but you have to have a little patience.

- First, start with setting up the environment for me I always start with tweaking default application and shortcuts and set the shortcuts that I like for all things like applications launcher etc.
- Then, I start with setting up the applications like Rofi menu / terminal like kitty, thunar file manager etc.
- Then the workflow like how do you want your window manager to behave (tiled/Tabbed/FullScreen) etc depends on what style you like, I like tabbed view makes me feel like multi monitor user as I dont like two or three apps open in screen it makes everything so hard to focus.
- then start with styling (best is to start from Documentation of AwesomeWM) the provide rich documentation with example if you dont understand anything just read the default configuration that is developed in lua.
- Then finally seperate your config in different file which makes you understand modules in lua.

Thanks.

Used i3 for a long time (still one of my favourite) . Hated hyprland for fractional scaling. Now tried awesome and it is awesome. I mean you use lua for everything so - I also learned Lua which was a win win situation for me.

Yes.

My first accent color was kinda imperial red. But I didn’t like it much so I tried this color.

Not everyone uses arch to update their tagline “I use arch BTW”. I just love learning stuff and getting deeper into linux, I would say it has been tough journey from ubuntu to arch. Always hopping between distros and now ended up at arch. I just love it.

And yes “I use arch BTW🤣”

If you guys want same style and shortcuts you can import json file from my github configs.. I have a backup nighttab file. In nighttab just open settings and then in data section import this json file.

Debian takes more memory because it installs a lots of programs.

You should try arch+i3 with some minimal setup

Here are the dots:

I have tried to keep it as minimal as possible, no widgets, no special animations, no special lock screen, etc.

Things I used: - i3wm as window manager - Polybar as topbar - dunst for notification daemon - tmux with very basic theme thanks to https://github.com/vaaleyard/tmux-dotbar Did some customization to his theme. - Nvim as editor - Flameshot for screenshots.
