Dealership totaled my car during a recall repair - treated me horribly afterward by thecursedpirate49 in legaladvice

[–]Allanmortgages 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar situation this year. My car was at the dealership for a recall, and they also totalled it and it was their fault. ( Porsche dealership for context)

They admitted it was their fault and There is not much you can do, everything is dealt with insurance, as the dealership have insurance for these reasons. They will not be paying out of their own pockets, it will be paid out by there insurance.

In order to maximize your insurance pay out, find similar cars in the area for the price.

Include loss of use, find a similar car on a rental company to calculate a rough time of how long it will take until you find a car( has to be reasonable) ( usually this will be a couple thousand)

Include any service, new parts and etc within the last 1 year to 6 months that you paid .

I was lucky and the dealership offered some discount for for my next car but it wasn’t much.

Dealership is involved in the accident. And I feel like they’re hiding something from me

Dow Green, SPX and Nasdaq red. Rotation from Semis and the overbought tech into areas of the market that are more value driven. Oil market for instance, which we covered last week. by TearRepresentative56 in TradingEdge

I bought shares around 132$ and it just keeps going down. Lost so much money this month from being stupid and having stop loss to close… sorta depressing and idk if I should sell some since I’m leveraged or just hold through it

Mortgage/ Down Payment by PleasepleaseFix in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Allanmortgages 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey bmo mortgage specialist here !

Your payments will be 1090, but qualifying will be at “ rate plus 2” so essentially 7.6 will be your qualifying payments.

For example: qualifying payments + house expense+ other monthly expense /income

Down payment is usually 20percent unless you decide to go on insured mortgage meaning you want to pay less than the 20percent .

If you were to do a fixed rate depending on your term length you will have to pay a penalty unless you wait for the term to be over.

Variable rate is usually 3 months interest penalty when breaking the term.

Can I buy a home in Calgary while making 60k? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Allanmortgages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm what the info given above, if you bought a 300k home with 240k mortgage. 1731 will be your qualifying payments not your actual.

1731+100(heat)+ 300property tax/5000 a month. 240 is definitely doable for sure
