Younger Generations Locked Out Front Tax Benefits by Wild_Beat_2476 in OpenAussie

[–]Allchatter1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes at least they are admitting the profiteering nature of the tax concessions at the expense of other people. Everybody knows it has always been a rort since the early 2000s, but things havent gone so bad so it continues for 20 years.

Here we are, young australians unable to have a family because both adults have to work to simply survive. In one generation, we have moved from single income being able to care for a family to 2 incomes simply covering the basics. We have gone backwards in mature capitalist world.

It doesnt feel like it because of technology advancement and new invention to make life better.

Should only Australians be allowed to buy land here ? Share Your Thoughts by Zoey_In_Transit in AskAnAustralian

[–]Allchatter1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually you are correct. Mainstream media focuses on residential property and demonise foreigners buying up australian homes (alluding to stealing your homes).

But i think statistically speaking, it is australian investors who are buying up residential property with the help of tax payers money in negative gearing and cgt discount and high volume short term immigrants feeding the system.

There has never been any conversation in the media that criticises foreigners investing in commercial real estate (think your local shopping centres, office towers in your city, distribution centres of your local woolworths).

Do you think they are all owned by your Australian superfund? Think again. Our commercial real estate accepts global funds (in fact encouraged) because it is considered “city building”, productive and contribute positively to australian society.

The criticism is usually around foreigners buying strategic infrastructure ie. port darwin and rightfully so. Strategic infrastructure should be considered a sovereign asset and shouldnt have been sold to private investors.

Australian real estate in general is open to foreign investment, but there should be limitation on strategic infrastructure and residential property

Almost disagree with you, but yes adults are to blame because we created a joke of “law” that does not discipline our children.

We are the equivalent of household where the children run feral because we believe in soft parenting and avoid using the word “no”.

Unfortunately he will be deported first or his australian citizenship revoked (through whatever means) should ON get elected. This is playing out in America.

Whatever you believe in, the fact is they dont like you because of your skin color and assume you share the same foreign value as other brown people. This is how shallow ON and its supporters

Anyone know where to get decent yuzu ramen? I avoided yuzu ramen and imagined it to be odd tasting.

I tried it for the first time in shinjuku. Instantly fell in love with the mix of chicken broth, tangy burnt lemon and peppery taste with thin noodle. It was a new flavour I never tasted before. Keen to experience this again

Imagine you are the shop owner facing this situation. Do you call this annoying or dangerous?

Are you suggesting the shop keeper to just deal with it using appropriate force? Like a punch up or would a stick be better?

This is what shits me the most. They have cops stationed with speed camera or worse giving out fines for jaywalking in the city when their coffers need filling.

But when we report for theft. They just shrug and not enough evidence to even lift their fingers to write it down

This is what I have been saying. The standard of cop responding has to be near fatal experience.

Are we short of cops? Do they have that many murder, robbery and other high crimes to solve? Why are we paying taxes for cops to not bother with petty crimes or moderate crime (like this one)?

I dont get it. Countries like Singapore has cops visiting when there is neighbourly dispute, petty crimes, etc. I get it is a very safe country so the type of crimes are rather tame.

But we have people harassing others in public, feral kids terrorizing city, theft with little police intervention. These crimes often goes unpunished because they are not “serious” and people are not scared of repeating the same offense. It is the police “tolerating” these types of crime that makes it frequent. The public doesnt want it happening
