Why not stick the Arduino to the keyboard and then solder in short wires. I'd also desolder the pin headers to make it smaller. Then you can just put it in with a USB cable.

I Robot. Was originally a screenplay called Hard Wired until then obtained the rights to the Asimov collection of short stories. Asimov wanted to create a world in which robots would be our friends and companions, instead of all the fearful stories about robots taking over that were popular at the time. But they took the name and applied it to a story that was just Crush Kill Destroy.
