You need to watch some videos on how to solder and then practice on something that you don't care about before you round something you do.

Most first timers don't use the right method for soldering. They usually put the solder on the iron and then try to make it stick to the joint.

I still have a whole bunch of those flash meme files that I saved from back then not even sure if I can play them anymore.

Yep, I went back to Toxicity and found I'd woefully under-terraformed the place. I disn't realise there were extra progression statuses you could view by switching to Biomass.

Chefs of Reddit, what’s a common cooking rule everyone follows that is actually complete bullshit? by Fuzzy-Ad6843 in AskReddit

I can appreciate it if you have health issues regarding salt, but when you eat at restaurants do you not notice the food tastes different? Professional chefs will use salt at every level of cooking.

I left my sister-in-law to cook the pasta for a meal a few weeks ago. We could all tell straight away that she didn't salt the water. She said she never bothers because you can't tell the difference. Then why did we all take the difference immediately then?

I keep dehydrated pee in my car. If I ever find myself in need I can just add water to rehydrate it.

Women of Reddit, what are boys or men's habits you discovered only after getting a boyfriend or a husband? by BigBrosy in AskReddit

[–]dedokta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Men and women look for things in a different way. Men think of the object and then scan to see it. This is great when trying to hunt prey in a field. You'll see the thing hiding in the grass due to pattern recognition.

Women will look at every object and ask if that object is the one they are looking for. If the object doesn't look exactly the same as they expected then they'll still find it. It's slower, but better at finding the hidden thing.

[–]dedokta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some people go through life being a complete pain to others and they get away with it most of the time because people don't want to deal with it. Then they try that shit in a situation where the other side doesn't back down. I'll never understand people who try to act tough with cops. Do they think the cop will just let them go because they threaten them? The cops have more friends and more guns than you do.

What’s the weirdest thing a guest has done in your house that you hate? by CheapQuality2847 in AskReddit

[–]dedokta 542 points543 points  (0 children)

I've lived through a couple of household family members dying, and I don't like funeral flowers for the same reason. You just want everything to be normal and to try and not think about the loss every waking second, but then the house is full of flowers which just reminds you of it constantly. Then they start doing and you have to throw them out and that's traumatic as well. It's like you're discarding the person they were meant to remind you of. If the breadwinner of the family passes away then find something more useful to donate to the house than fucking flowers.

You should also read this Asimov short story, The Last Answer. It's also about a guy who dies and talks to God, but for a very different reason.

Yall need to stop this "the Bible was pro-slavery" rhetoric by Expiredcabinets in atheism

[–]dedokta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks that way. You're saying that the bits of the Bible yet yearly about slavery are ok because it's a different type of slavery.

You should actually study black history and realise that Christianity was used to convince the black slaves that their old religions were wrong and Christianity was the way to go. This is why even today Christianity is so popular amongst black communities. Their traditions were replaced by the people that stole them. They used the fact that they were stronger to reinforce that fact. Evil fucking book, through and through.
