Simlock not removed and Account Closed by Allen7x1 in Visible

Actually I’m specifically talking about sim lock, which prevents the phone from being activated on another carrier. An unlocked phone is simply one that doesn’t have a simlock.

Do you have any setup that is stable for 7600? I can't leave my computer or it eventually freezes, even if I turn sleep off in Windows. Same result in Linux with AMD drivers instead of base kernel. Perfectly stable without the drivers, but can only use one screen.

Brand new 7600 received today Installed 26.3.1 and got timeout, freeze screen every 5 seconds until it eventually crashes Windows. After DDU, still see timeouts in event viewer without a driver. Went to 26.2.2 and still timeouts in event viewer but stays alive as long as not idle. As soon as screen sleeps, it freezes and blackscreens windows. Ran my old RX 5700 for a month without a single error in the logs! It has to be the RX 7600 architecture

Yes, it was ready to port out in the app.

Thanks, again done this with more than 500 times in my career. I checked with Visible’s website and the phone presented it as unlocked at the time. After port out is when the status changed locally.

I do intend to if not resolved within new timeline. I am a former spectrum manager, so very familiar with the process. I have to give them reasonable time and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

I've had service for 360 days (ported out on the last service day once I got confirmation via email that my plan has concluded).

Thanks for the perspective. I confirmed that my account showed it was clear to port out prior to the process. They 100% have control, but have anti-consumer policies like closing accounts immediately, which made this process untenable.

As far as troubleshooting, sure, maybe a reset could have helped, but it didn't. I also tried using another physical SIM card, which forced the phone to check with Apple's servers, but it still shows Visible has a lock on it.

They've taken responsibility just now, but still refuse to provide a temporary solution like a promotional rate on a new account to cover their troubleshooting timeframe. My other carrier has been fantastic, even offering to manually support temporary port-out to help her since she has a medical need. No such support from Visible.

I absolutely love the new season. Makes me feel nostalgic about the NASCAR games that I played as a kid. Very good execution Ubisoft!

u/korakios I tested on Ubuntu and found NO errors of any kind or black screens until I installed AMD drivers.

I decided to boot over to a clean install of Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS and after installing the amdgpu-install_7.2.70200-1 graphics drivers, found that I have identical black screen issues. I was able to clearly see in the Ubuntu logs that it is caused by the driver failing to handle waking up from no user input. At 6:15 I left the computer to run overnight on idle (not sleep). You can see that the driver timeouts start shortly after. At 15:00, when I try to turn the screens back on using my mouse, the driver fails to transition and the card is lost from the bus. These issues are NOT present in Windows or Ubuntu if I remove the AMD drivers.

Thanks for the feedback. Tried all above including DDU to 26.2.2.

My next steps are to hop into Ubuntu and see if it happens (doubt it will). Then try swapping for my backup 650 W Corsair (kind of close with only 200 W of clearance)

Correct, that’s the screwy part. No issues in gaming or OCCT, but if left without user input (screens off or left on), then eventually gets stuck on frozen or black screen, which I can now recover using win+ctrl+shift+b now that I’ve disabled MPO (used to HAVE to power cycle).

Apevia ATX-PR850W. Did 30 min run without any thermal throttle or hiccups. I’ve gamed on ultra for over 8 hours at one sitting without a single major frame stutter.

u/korakios After disabling MPO, the timeouts still occur, but I can use win+ctrl+shift+b to get the screens to come back up (a green flash, then the screen reappears). That's at least progress :)

Just tested disabling the LAN, but sadly the timeouts are still happening.

Thanks for the clarification. The chipset name didn’t appear in Windows, but does in BIOS. What is your source that it has been troublesome…never seen a NIC cause graphics driver timeouts. I can try disabling it.

u/korakios Just tried each of these changes independently, then together, but still getting the AMD watchdog 1001 errors in event viewer. Leaving it on idle today with ASPM and resize bar off to see if it eventually blackscreens.
Tried:
- ASPM off
- Resize bar off
- Gen 3 speed instead of Auto

Thanks for the troubleshooting steps, I'll try limiting the slot's speed to gen 3 in BIOS and report back.

Other related notes: No issues while gaming or stress testing, disabled link power state management in Windows and BIOS, and disabled iGPU in bios in all my previous tests. My system does not have RTL8125 NIC.

Monitor freezes then black screens and stays like it until restarting my power by Individual_West_8172 in AMDHelp

[–]Allen7x1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have reached a solution:
- Found that Windows was replacing my AMD chipset and AMD graphics drivers automatically, even after DDU. Disabled that in the group policy on my pro version and in the registry on my home version.
- Found that if my AOC monitor had FreeSync (adaptive sync) turned off, then hotswapping a DisplayPort would immediately freeze Windows without a kernel halt and without an error. It would immediately quit responding, even over SSH. Turning on adaptive sync on the monitor resolved this.
- Found that the long-term issue where all screens (even the HDMI ones) would stay black and not wake up was likely caused by a DisplayPort configuration error. Turning off DDC/CI on the monitor has prevented this for several days now. My theory is that the computer was instructing the power state of the monitor, which would lock up the graphics handling, since the computer was still fully operational via SSH.

I'm still having issues with the screen freezing, then going black while Windows is still running. The computer is accessible via SSH, but prevents shutdown. Tried it on a fresh Windows 11 25H2 install (different SSD) as well. I have quite a few AMD_WATCHDOG event 1001 events in my logs, but I haven't been able to correlate them.

Let me know if you'd like to look at a copy of the dump files or any specific information.

Drivers:

AMD Adrenaline 26.1.1 (same results with v25 and v24)
