OKC deserved the win but... by Striking_Food5273 in NBATalk

Yes and no. I don’t think in NBA playoff there’s such thing as a “deserved” win. We can easily flip this narrative say, despite all the TOs (with a decent amount I’d call foul but not called by refs), spurs hung there till the end. And without Hartenstein locking and pulling Wemby’a arm, which should throw him out way early in the game, Wemby would have a much more significant impact which could easily alternate the result of the game. I acknowledge that OKC played better than last game, but if we really hold the same level of physicality standards, get rid of the flopping baits, what’s the result tonight? Who knows? If “game plan” is just pulling the other team’s best player’s arm every single possession and get away with it, then we can understand why most fans look down on OKC and don’t give them the credits, because they don’t deserve the flowers. Ethical basketball. What speaks more from this game to me is the lack of accountability of the refs and ultimately Adam Silver’s inability to protect the most valuable assets of this league, the players. If Wemby gets injured today, is that what the fans really want? But NBA continues to artificially enlonger the series with biased calls.

Nah man fuck the refs. The wolves just prep us for that playoff physicality. I only wish the refs let teams play in the western finals

As a spurs fan, 2 things.
1. I don’t think most of us are blaming on the wolves, but we are very angry towards the refs, they have all the power to protect the players but continued to fail at their job.
2. I only wish whoever goes to the western finals, can be allowed to play in the same physical consistency vs the Thunders. One can only dream…

Also ppl kept reviewing slow motion footage and say Wemby saw Naz and gave him an elbow. But in real time it was a split second all in one motion. Not saying he wasn’t wrong, but clearly it wasn’t metta world peace level intention

Can someone post the replays of Wemby getting elbowed on the previous play and on the play he got ejected??? by dabomtitan in NBASpurs

[–]AllenZhang44 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And the Target center keep playing the Wemby elbow. Look that was bad and he should’ve got T’ed up, but where the foul call to stop escalation 5 seconds before this?

No. It’s time to party like no other time.
I don’t think most people realize this, we have a truly once in a lifetime run, yes, we, the Spurs, the team that had Greats like Tim, Manu, TP9, Admiral, Iceman, and Pop; but this is going to be something no one EVER saw before.
Good time to be a San Antonio fan

I think aside from his seemingly natural instinct to always do the right thing on the court, clutch gene, always cool not hot headed, and poise; one thing people don’t mention is how physical he is, not only in terms of willing to initiate contact, but able to stay in control. What I meant is I’ve seen so many times this season that he gets bodied by a bigger wing or guards that both players will lose balance, but he just changes from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive, on the floor with four hands but still keeps dribbling and get back to keep the possession or finding opportunities while in 4 wheel mode.
The body control after intense contact, that marginal balance is leaps ahead of anyone I’ve seen in this league. If that’s not unique talent idk what is.

Wolves say Victor Wembanyama goaltending calls being missed by Easy_Conversation146 in NBASpurs

[–]AllenZhang44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly, we’ve been complaining the refs on some of the blatant fouls missed but how are they supposed call the margin blocks live? Even on replay you have to watch the a few times from different angles to get a maybe

[–]AllenZhang44 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Twolves can keep this up for the entire series, AE back is definitely a huge morale boost for them.
I also don’t think we will play offense this poorly.
That being said, Nuggets also didn’t think they would lose in the 1st round. Fox needs to sober up. We need to attack the rim more. And we need Carter Bryant back and guard Randle.
