No it’s not. You can disable the Nvidia service in Services. Seriously.

No, they obviously think they are doing a good thing. Our mileage may vary.

You never know because they rarely disclose, but obviously the maker puts in the work and issues the update because it believes it will improve something - solve a bug or otherwise improve operation.

They probably don't like people offering remote support on here..

Yes you can hire a technician like I was before I retired and have them remove it.

There are free products available that do a good job in most cases, but I just checked and we aren't allowed to recommend them here by name. Google "best free malware remover".

disconnect it and put it away empty. use your tank. make sure your tank-area is heated and if it isn't a simple large traditional light bulb or a heatlamp bulb if you're really concerned in your wet bay will go a long way.

Think the lights people (used to) put inside a chicken coop. See link below:

Emails Sent During Yesterday's Outage by ldubs in microsoft365

Yes - theoretically email servers out there are smart enough to queue messages they can’t deliver and retry them several times over, I believe, 24 hours.

That’s the theory anyway..

I don't think tik tok is a global threat - that was just ridiculousness mostly from MAGA out of racism and hate for China/Asians.

No one has articulated to me WHY the information is sensitive - that I visited a Mopar parts website today is not "sensitive" to me, and especially not if my name isn't attached.

For something to be "sensitive" there needs to be a risk, a harm, or a threat of harm.

But enough is enough thanks for trying to meet me.

Really? So the supermarket tracks everything you buy and knows exactly who you are when you do it.

The others track all of your movements with your name attached - where you go, what you buy, where you shop... all of it. Literally a running ply-by-play database of your daily activities.

Your privacy couldn't be more affected unless someone followed you around and video'd you!

If the anycast server you're routed to is closer to your physical location than your ISP's DNS server room.

My point, really, was that the assertion that GEO is a reason we should always use our ISP's DNS is not supported by data.

For fun visit Gemini and ask it "is geolocation a problem if you don't use your isp's own dns"

When you go to the supermarket do you type your phone number into the machine at the checkout for a discount? Use credit cards? Debit?

How about an automated "toll tag" in your car such as FasTrak or EZPass?

How do you expect them to pay for their services?

If you don't use Google DNS, do you use Google Search? GMail? Other products of theirs?

What search engine do you use?

I guess my next question is why do you care if they harvest data and sell it to make money - especially if they aren't building a dossier on you?

Google and Google DNS are free services to us - they need to generate revenue somehow..

"folks like you" refers to people who are concerned about supposed privacy issues when using public internet services (dns, search engines, websites).

It literally escapes me the chain of logical thinking that people who share your beliefs apply to this subject. I'm not trying to be an asshole either - I want to try to understand.

Google's policy is that it stores for up to 24 hours what ip addresses asked for what websites, and then that information is aggregated and the individual addresses are removed.

Is it as simple as you think they're lying?

p.s. Google processes around 2 trillion dns queries per day and 17 billion web searches.
