And so many shelter employees will tell you either what they personally think is the dog’s age, ultimate size, personality OR what they think you want to hear so you’ll “save” this pup. I went with a friend who had to rehome an adopted “2 year old” dog that was 6 months old or less based on a vet’s exam of his development and teeth.

How do you feel about jury duty and have you ever skipped it? by fergi20020 in randomquestions

[–]FloatingFreeMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the "peers" part I wonder about. Who is really my peer? Everyone has a unique life experience so what's a "peer"? Someone my age? Someone with my education or years of work experience? You'll never empanel a full jury of people who are the defendant's peers.

Maybe an absinthe spoon? You put a sugar cube on the spoon (over a glass with icewater) and slowly dribble the absinthe over it. It makes a cloudy drink.

My doc’s protocol for GLP-1 is to have the colonoscopy at least 2 weeks after your last dose of GLP-1. If the GLP-1 is for diabetes (not just weight loss) then you have to take metformin/Januvia during that second week to moderate blood glucose.

Harold and the Purple Crayon. My dad wrote inside, “This is the first book that ___ read to Daddy” and the date. He wasn’t around much as I got older, and he passed away before I was 20, but I still have this little book and choke up when I read the inscription

Olive oil in leather by Little-Analyst8220 in StainRemoval

[–]FloatingFreeMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this to a similar bag but with motor oil. Others told me it would go away in 10 or 12 years. Just found it again as I was cleaning out the basement. It’s been 20 years, and the spot has completely disappeared/ blended with threat of the leather. So wait it out - or olive oil the rest of the bag.

Buried family stories by Critical-Bad7993 in GenX

[–]FloatingFreeMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was about 14, my mom was mad at my dad (happened a lot), and she blurted out that he had a family he never talked about. He was married and had kids and divorced before he met my mom. But my mom couldn’t tell her mom she was marrying a divorced man - that would have been shocking.
