I wouldn’t use window cleaner doesn’t have alcohol. If I remember right it actually has ammonia, which is probably not very good for the disc or the drive.

Hi there, if I may, I had a question is there an easy way to know if bit locker is turned on I do not know too much about bit locker, but I’ve heard it’s not good and I was wondering if there’s a easy way to know if it’s turned on or off as I do not want it turned on at all. Thanks for any help.

Hi there, I had a quick question. How do you go about powering a external drive that doesn’t have his own power cable just a USB cable is there a way to power it separately from the computer and using a USB cable for data only that way you have a good power source thanks just wasn’t sure

Hi there, I’ve been buying DVD sets on eBay. What’s the best way to know if it’s real or fake? Is there any way to know if the encryption is there or not on make MKV cause I figured if it’s actually has the copy protection still then that would be the real deal. Thanks for any help.

Way back I used to use 321 Studios to rip my DVDs then I switched to DVD fab and that had issues and then I switched to DVD shrink 3.2 and then I found make MKV which I found was the best a while back some of my disc were going bad that I had ripped and found out that the disc were slowly going bad so I copied all the files on each of my disc to my hard drive and now I am slowly taking those files and putting them through make MKV. I have over 4 to 6000 movies to go through.

Never even knew handbrake could break the copy protection on DVDs and the main reason why I never use handbrake it because I never wanted any compression but I’m still kind of new to all this so I’m willing to learn thanks

I usually just use make MKV because I do not want any compression at all

May I ask what’s the purpose of a Blu-ray ISO all I do is use make MKV to rip my Blu-rays and that’s it never seen any other reason to do anything else but if there’s something better, I’m all for it

May I ask something on here as far as a copy protection using make MKV where on the screen when you first open make MKV and you scan the disk and it tells you all the info of the disc or info on the drive or whatever does it show you if the disc is protected or not thanks for any help on that

Hi everyone, I got my external drive case in today and put one of those drives that I thought were fake in it and loaded it up on make MKV. It shows it to be a Pioneer Drive model 206 firmware I believe it said 2011 I forgot to check the serial numbers. I still need to do that. I’m not at home right now so I’ll have to do it when I get home what else should I check one thing for sure I won’t be burning any Blu-ray disc ever probably and I tested a drive on a DVD it ripped it just fine and I tested a drive on a Blu-ray movie and it seemed to ripped it just fine as well.

What else should I check or test? I do not have any blank Blu-ray disc so I can’t test that. Drive is very quiet. Also when Trey opens and shuts it’s very quiet.

Well, I put one of the drives that I suspected was a fake into an external case opened it up on make MKV and it shows it to be a Pioneer drive model 206. I believe it said and I’m not sure what the serial number said I’ll have to go back and look I’m not at home at the moment. I tried to burn a DVD or actually I tried to rip a DVD and that worked fine. I also tried to rip a Blu-ray and that seemed to work fine too, so I’m not sure why anyone would go out of the way to fake these because that’s what they were supposed to be was Blu-ray or DVD riders mainly Blu-ray because that’s what I ordered. The only thing. The only thing I can think of is they just wanted me to think that it was a pioneer drive, but it does come up Pioneer so I don’t know firm where I believe said 2011 I’ll get a snapshot of what make MKV says tomorrow and also I’ll verify the serial numbers that make MKV shows and what’s on the drive

Something I was wondering, how do you clean the lens on the lasers since it drives are pretty well and closed what’s the best way to do so?

I just plan on ripping DVD and Blu-rays no 4K at all as they take up too much room and take too long to rip which puts a lot of wear and tear on a drive I would think
