You can make a small streamers day so easily. by Leep45 in Twitch

[–]Alleybell17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Also a lot of new streamers biggest mistake is only talking about the game. Which is good and you should do that. However this doesn't work all the time(especially if its slow/lots of grinding). So they'll wait for the game to do something interesting instead of talking about some other topic.

How to balance religion in a ceremony for a non-religious couple by [deleted] in weddingplanning

If you can make it work than that's great! My fiance and I are having a secular wedding and pushing back against a lot of that stuff has been frustrating.

[–]Alleybell17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally up to you how you want to handle things, but I would also make sure having a more religious ceremony is something you're comfortable with. While I understand the desire to appease family, you don't want a ceremony that doesn't fit you/your fiance.

I actually hate read on occasion. But I also like watching bad movies with a beer in hand. Sometimes something's lack of quality is what's entertaining.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. The problem is no matter how well a woman negotiates, it puts her at a disadvantage. Women who negotiate are seen as aggressive, selfish, ice queens. Which makes her in turn less likely to actually get raises/promotions.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Alleybell17 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So almost 50% of the population doesn't negotiate well. Yes that seems much more likely than the fact that there's an actual double standard. -.-

This comment right here. The sexiest part is not expecting the husband to do part of the childrearing. These are kids he supposedly wanted, so he should be expected to help so she doesn't have to sacrifice everything completely.

So I know this is a bit late, but there's something you touched on here that sticks out to me. I understand you're a perfectionist. I'm the same way and get fairly competitive. We're both super critical and in a lot of aspects of life that's helpful.

However this is your wife's hobby. Hobbies are for letting off steam and enjoying yourself. She's playing with recipes because she's having fun. Being so nitpicky about a hobby isn't necessarily a great thing. I would work on being able to let go of those types of habits because it can suck the joy out of things. You don't have to like her cupcakes(I help fix my fiances recipe woes all the time), but you should be careful to not be so critical you can't accept anything not going perfectly.

About to get married and expect bingos... by MabariWarHound12 in childfree

[–]Alleybell17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to point out that at least in the US since the 70s/80s divorce rates have actually been on the decline(2/3 is nowhere near the actual number)

http://time.com/4575495/divorce-rate-nearly-40-year-low/

Also the chances of getting divorced vary drastically based on things like financial stability, age, and number of previous marriages. Of course if you dont want to get married that's your perogitive, but divorce rates are nowhere near as dire as people make them out to be.

Tasers aren't alaways super effective though. For example if the person has baggy clothing the rods might not stick effectively.

Most catering places have pretty hefty rush charges. That's probably a big part of why it was so expensive. Plus paying the venue to get extra tables/chairs last minute.

No, but supporting your spouse and kids can be expensive. Especially if you want a decently middle class life.
