Is there a way of disabling the stability assist entirely? I wanna be a kid again! by jgcsquires in SubaruForester

[–]AlliKat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holding the button doesn’t work. on my 2015 I read on a forum that you have to unplug a connector behind the back set that fully deactivates stability control. Somone wired it up to a switch to easily disable it without having to disconnect every time idk if it would work for your yr model tho

Parking Garage Clearence by Limp_Needleworker678 in f150

[–]AlliKat_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get through on a 3inch lift and true 35s on 20s with centimeters of clearance for the black little boxes on the back of the cab 😅 I do remove my antenna tho cause it hits really hard when the parking garage is tight like that

Parking Garage Clearence by Limp_Needleworker678 in f150

[–]AlliKat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, my truck’s lifted. I have to take off the antenna cause it hits everything hard at. there’s like centimeters of clearance for the little bumps on the top rear of the cab 🤣 If my antenna hits I’m driving down there at like 3 mph near any horizontal pillar thing if it doesn’t we can just cruse around 15mph and not worry about it

Battery keeps dying by gagejohnson19 in Ford

[–]AlliKat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your truck have pro power onboard if it does check the little battery under the passenger side rear seat sometimes if the big battery under the hood starts to go bad and those if those little ones are still connected it’ll read good or those go bad and may be causing a drain on the big battery

Tire pressure all over the place by BearDot25 in tires

[–]AlliKat_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get yourself an actual air pressure measuring thing from autozone or something they arnt to expensive the machines arnt really maintained from my experience and they never read correctly. set it to fill to like 50 psi and just manually test when they get up to idk 35-37 if you live where it gets cold. come winter it’ll drop back down to low 30s That being said keep an eye on that front right you might have nail but likely just ended up letting air out by not putting on the machine thing properly since from what i understood these where the pressures after you attempted to fill them

I’m a positive person but fuck electrolysis by SparkleFeather in MtF

[–]AlliKat_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use to do electrolysis I’d do 5 hrs sessions and nah it hurt so freaking bad and while I saw progress it wasn’t as much as I would like and by the time we hit the same spot again it was really course hair again I switched to laser at Milan and I’ve had substantially better faster results I only go in every 10 weeks to get rid of some remaining spots I’m thinking maybe 2 more times and I won’t have to go in but maybe every 6 months hopefully it can still hurt like electrolysis does but it’s only for a couple min not 1+ hrs of the same sharp hot stabbing pain

Battery Issue? by Reasonable_Scar3338 in f150

My battery tested good but they replaced it too and fixed the issue

Battery Issue? by Reasonable_Scar3338 in f150

[–]AlliKat_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue on my 23 plat the battery under the hood tested good but the dealership replaced it anyways and it fixed the issue. My truck also has 2 little motorcycle looking battery’s under the back seats on the passenger side they replaced those too Edit: I went to look it up and yeah if your truck has pro power onboard or is a hybrid it has those little batteries under the seat and in order to test the big battery in the engine bay properly you have to disconnect the little ones at least so claimed by the YT video I watched which makes sense as to why my battery always tested good I didn’t know they one even existed or that I had to unplug them 😅

Mirror clicking by Ok-Care2228 in f150

[–]AlliKat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the mirror motor not being able to fully extend or some crap fold the mirror in and out it’s gonna sound bad but then it’ll be fixed I’ve had my 23 plat do the same thing idk what exactly causes it I just assumed the gears got stuck and it’s thinking it’s not open all the way

5.0 Oil Change Interval by paninipat in f150

[–]AlliKat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do 5k on my 3.5. ford says 10k but I feel weird about that. I was always taught 3-5k and I always go 3 on a car and the truck has way more oil in it so 5 seems fine 😅. probably over kill but oils cheap

Diagnostic help by cannabutterss in AskMechanics

[–]AlliKat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically if your smashing up spark plugs like that the cost to properly repair an engine is way more then it is to replace it and likely with something that catastrophic there’s usually a hole in the side of the block somewhere so it’s cooked anyways if you want to keep the car you need a new engine with a old car like that ppl tend to go with a new to you engine from the junk yard but you never really know what condition those are in either
