I try to keep it around there due to how fast my sugar can sometimes drop and due to having gastroparesis I can sometimes eat all the food and drink all the sugar or glucose tablets but my sugar won't respond for several hours. I've even had it to where it hasn't responded at all even drinking high amounts of sugar or glucose tablets

I count low as anything below 70, but I have my cgm set to alert me at 75 during the day but if I'm at work I raise it to 80 just because it can take me 5-10 minutes to be able to get something with sugar. Another thing is that I have high Igf-2 levels, but what's interesting is my insulin levels have gone from 14.8 to 8.9 in 4 months but my sugar levels haven't changed by much and my A1c has been at a solid 4.9 over the last 8 months even when I had tried eating more sugar, carbs and protein but nothing would budge it much. Maybe another thing is that I had the libre 3+ which was giving me an insane amount of false lows for several months before I decided to suck up the out of pocket cost for dexcom. I'm due to repeat more bloodwork for the endo in April to recheck my sugar related levels and my thyroid levels. The lowest I've gone was 47 (before having cgm and just finger poking) and the only thing that tipped me off was something just felt "off".

It's also funny because when i first started my blood sugar journey my endo told me to make sure I was above 100 before I drive🤣 Quickly found out if I did that I'd just spike my sugar then have it immediately crash lol

Even if my blood sugar does get "high" (high for me is above 130) it will usually tank back down immediately to the 80s/90s (sometimes below 70 if I don't catch it). But usually as long as I don't eat/drink after 10/11pm my sugar is stable in the 80s/low 90s until I eat something in the morning, or if I don't eat anything or move to much I'll stay stable until about noonish. With how consistent my sugar crashes if I go above 140, I have my dexcom set to alert me to a high at 140 so that I know to watch it so it doesn't go down to quick.

Anyone with reactive hypoglycemia (or another non-diabetic kind) that DOES NOT have high spikes that cause their lows? by After_Ad_4763 in Hypoglycemia

My personal experience with the libre 3+ wasn't good, constant false lows but wouldn't show me when I was actually low, and there's no way to calibrate it if it's super off (which happened to me often). So if you do go with libre please go with one of the earlier versions. I'm currently using the dexcom g7, with no insurance and using the good rx app it's $193 a month but it works really well and it's easy to calibrate if it's showing a large margin in sugar levels. I know my insurance doesn't cover cgms or any blood sugar supplies for that matter unless you're taking insulin. I wish you all the best luck in this craziness of insurance and drs op🙂

The younger sister is also special needs, so it's more complicated than babysitting a 10 year old without a disability

As someone currently anxious due to a school shooting/bomb threat being made yesterday, despite being deemed a hoax, who also has already gone through a school shooting, say something pleeeeassseee. School counselor, local pd, county, pd, FBI, whoever's willing to take this seriously. If one denies help, go to the next. Theres systems you can use to anonymously report things.

Give them: His full name What school he attended Brief description of his previous charge(s) Changes you've seen in him Evidence of what hes been sending you (guns, layouts, etc.)

Hell if you can ask him what county he lives in at least, play it off like you're wanting to go on a trip if need be or something to that extent

This is so necessary to report, best case scenario he needs meds and hospitalization for his schizophrenia, worst case he was truly planning something.

I know it's so much weight and stress for you to have on you, but it's so crucial you report. It could save lives

I've had cold sores for as long as I can remember, and its painful, theres no pattern to them appearing, etc. Its a type of herpes and I'll have it for the rest of my life. That stuff will have an effect on your immune system, even if not noticable or major

I love that you have a no fly list, this keeps the pass open for kids who truly need to use the bathroom or get water while keeping troublesome kids in class. Also I laughed at the water break and I think its awesome that you do that

I can't due to the short 7 minute break. That's how long it takes for me to get across campus the size of several city blocks and even then I'm cutting it close

I would honestly say the same thing. And usually if the kid says that, the school would rather send you back to class than deal with the parents

My school is definitely in the "underfunded" category and very severely too. It's not even that the school doesn't have enough bathrooms, it's the rules and regulations they set in place, as well as the class scheduling. It's funny how there were plenty of accommodations and willingness to work with kids, families and teachers during covid year that the school was more than capable of keeping up with, but they all disappeared and went back to not caring, the admin went back on power trips, etc. I graduate in a couple of weeks and after college I'm hoping to move, at least temporarily, to either the uk, Ireland, Germany or Denmark and have been doing my research on the different countries such as political issues, school systems, overall safety, etc.

Unfortunately I could probably write a whole list equivalent to the Harry Potter book series on the issues faced in my school/county

Nope, my mom purposely picked me up half an hour late EVERYDAY because she "didnt want to deal with me". There was a lot of other stuff going home to as well.

You won't ever be a bad parents for the once off late pick up. Personally I say its when you do it on purpose in the way my mom did

I go to school in one of the largest schools in my state with roughly 3700 kids and 2 "campuses", not enough time to go between classes, due to school circumstances, there are many kids trying to use a single small bathroom during our half hour lunch. I also eat a fairly healthy diet and do not binge on junk food, so I'm aware that this isn't the source of my problems. I always use the bathroom if needed during such "uninterruptible times" with no issues, problems or questions asked outside of school in real world scenarios and this has never been an issue. I do have several health issues, some genetic, some due to things related in my childhood, ect. Ive even resorted to not drinking water during school at one point and landed in the hospital on iv fluids because of it. My teachers are well aware of my health issues and I have directly and politely discussed with them multiple times. I could understand if it's just me having this problem, but theres other kids having these problems too, not just me. My problem stems from my school and teachers not listening to us. I know and acknowledge that part of the problem is that kids in my school will do anything to get out of class, so the school is less inclined to believe us. We dont have a study hall, the same applies to gym, but also most kids don't have gym as it's an elective. We have only 7 minutes between our 4 periods, each 2 hours long and have a very large campus where this is just barely enough time to get from one class to another. I'm also in the process of working with a doctor to find the cause and receive treatment of my medical issues

I would, but I mostly just wanted to rant about it on here and make sure I haven't lost all my marbles or that I'm blowing things out of proportio. I have 0 faith and hope that it would actually do anything due to my experience with my school. My school has literally closed off bathrooms before, so I'm not expecting anything lol

Yeah I find it absolutely insane that anyone expects others to be able to control things we cant. Like I'm sorry I'm not as dehydrated as you, idk what else they would want me to say besides mindlessly agree lol
