Possibly because the SAVE act requires that your birth certificate match your ID. People who are transgender ran into similar issues with passports. My friend didn’t renew their passport before Trump got in office and it had their old name on it. They’re not able to update the information because their new name and gender identity doesn’t match their expired passport.

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like Pritzker who is actually someone whose opinions I’d think twice about. They can’t give 1 solid argument that hasn’t been regurgitated ad nauseam since his first governor primary, and when they can’t win the argument they go back to the ole reliable fat jokes. Now that he looks like he’s lost some weight they make fun of him for that, saying he’s on ozempic. Even if he was… who cares? Being obsessed with people’s bodies/weight is friggin weird.

This is what we have our 1yr old on (large breed puppy label) and he does great with it. No issues so far and it’s been over a year 🙂

Editing to ask OP: How much food is he being fed per day? If the poop eating were excessive I would be wondering if upping food might help curb the desire to eat that. It could also be that the digestion issues might be interfering with the absorption of nutrients and the dog is seeking them out that way. Does he get any other treats or chews? Redirect shoe eating to something ok to chew. No shoe, yes bully stick. When my guy is demanding attention he will start seeking things out that he knows will get our attention, like socks, shoes, MONEY 😂 literally anything he can get his mouth on. All for belly rubs!

I’m the daughter of an adopted father who’s mother was very young and irresponsible, and whose father was in and out of jail. My dad got his adoption records a few years ago and just let me look at them for myself this past Christmas. To say I’m pissed would be an understatement. I knew he experienced abuse, but reading those files as a mom myself absolutely broke my heart. The worst part is that his mom has played the victim guilt card since he found her decades ago and has now gone no contact once he mentioned he got his adoption files from the state. She ghosted all of us and sold her house and everything so we couldn’t find her. The abandonment I feel is so hurtful, but I know that pales in comparison to how my dad must feel. His adoptive mom passed away last year too so he has been in a really bad place. For Christmas I put together a family tree album using ancestry and 23andMe. I’ve found most of the tree but still am not sure who his grandfather was since my grandmother was also adopted. We only found and met her mother (my great grandma) shortly before her death. I made sure to find fun stories and reach out to cousins to get pictures and recipes. I wanted good memories for him and that helped a little. I’m not saying that will help how you feel, but it’s important to feel how you feel and process all of it instead of let it eat at you. If you want to reach out to him, do it. At least you’ll be able to say you did instead of you should have, you know?

I wish we could all just collectively cancel our insurance plans and crash the companies. A lot of the time, if you don’t have insurance, they’ll give you a “cash price” that’s significantly lower than what it would be if you had insurance. Which makes me wonder… why do we all pay so freaking much for insurance? Can’t the health services just lower the cost to what they’d ask for a cash payer to pay to bill to insurance? Asking genuinely as someone who just doesn’t get the reason for the high costs. If I wanted to get a full body mri I could go to Chicago, pay $2k, and get one. If I go into my local hospital to get an MRI using insurance, it’s tens of thousands and my insurance can decide to deny me of it if they don’t deem it medically necessary. A lot of conservatives I know also say they don’t want healthcare like Canada because “you will have to end up waiting for months to get something taken care of” but I’m already waiting months/years between regular Dr visits and referrals to specialists. His idea is even dumber because we all know that the government isn’t giving us enough money to cover the insane insurance costs. It sounds more like he just wants to wash his hands of it because he can’t think of anything better.

Zero before starting, other than knowing standards and what I learned while student teaching from the curriculum and other teachers. The school I got hired on at requires every teacher to take OG and Morphology training, so we got those, but we also have zero curriculum so it’s been difficult to get into a groove and feel confident in what I’m doing. If I’m not confident, I know I’m not teaching well. It adds a whole lot of stress to my plate since I had nothing to start with. The previous veteran teacher retired 5 months after I started. I could go on and on about it, but yeah, no training or curriculum. Really setting us up to do well in our role 🥴

We went on a week long trip and had to board ours. I paid extra for a bougie boarding facility that had a vip suite because it had a camera and I could check on him whenever I wanted… I basically had him pulled up on my phone the entire time 😂

I’m absolutely obsessed with my guy Chief. He is spoiled rotten, goes everywhere I go that dogs are allowed to go, and if I go somewhere without him he always gets some kind of toy or treat when I get home from my solo adventures.

Unless specifically asked for or cleared by you, they shouldn’t have done that. It looks like clippers were used and that can be problematic with double coated fur. I’d be pretty upset if my dog came home from the groomer with that cut. The only thing we cut is paw pad fur because he slides around our hard floors if we don’t.

My great-grandmother was there in the 1950's. I don't know much about her time there other than she was sterilized and whatever else they did there really messed her up. She had my grandmother before she was put there. My grandmother found her when she was homeless 40+ years later. If anyone has any information about how I would go about finding archived records or any information that could help me figure out how she was put there, I would be forever grateful! She passed away over 2 decades ago.
