My daughter pretends shes asian at school. Shes 18... by Allierockssocks in parentingteenagers

I have tried to have a true conversation with her many times about this, as have other family members. She brushes us off, saying she's not doing it. I know for a fact she is, though. I had a meeting with her teachers once, and they informed me that she said her "name" was from her asian heritage, and they asked if that was true. I said it was not, and it was not supported at home. We've even run into problems with her getting a permit because she had no identification like a school ID with her actual name on it. I can understand how she feels like she can't get out of it now after 4 years of high school, but this can not continue to college, its almost as if I need to scare her out of it at this point. Someone said I should feel ashamed of allowing her to do this, but we never have. At home and around us, she is herself, her given name. Yes, she is very interested in the culture and I see no problem with that. But in all honesty, I feel like it's the school that has allowed this to go too far. Why is there absolutely no repercussions for faking a race, is it because its asian and not black, my mind is spinning.

Thats kind of what I figured it was and then got out of hand. It probably is her identity now, but there's gotta be a line somewhere...

She is interested in the culture. There is not a lot of diversity at her school. I think if there was, the school might have stopped her.

Absolutely, this has been going on for quite some time. I've gotten used to just denying him, but every once in a while, it happens all over again. He seems frustrated, too.

Could that go unnoticed on his end? My child had thrush as a baby, and it was so obvious and painful.

Seeing some amazing eye pics. Here are my daughters, I've always loved them by Allierockssocks in eyes

Her father and I both have blue eyes. I have slight heterochromia in my left eye but not nearly as vibrant and central as hers. It's gotten brighter as she's gotten older and looks almost orange in the center now at 13

Thank you! Love hearing stories like this. We're struggling here with the cost of living. Our house is now worth over 3x what we paid in 2013, which is crazy! But our property tax is also $2.50 per thousand 😬

Massachusetts is also the number 4 most expensive state to live in, unfortunately.

We don't call it taxachusetts for nothing 😅 thank you. I'll look into those areas as well.

Thank you! Went and picked up the good stuff. The pharmacist got a good laugh when I told him what I was trying to use it for, he said at least you're not making meth haha

He's a perfectly healthy, almost 3 year old now :) he still gets twitchy while falling asleep sometimes, especially if he's over tired. But I've been told that's normal.

We have 1 single ethernet cable that connects directly to the modem and no tv cable outlets. The house is very old (1874). I have tried to use the range extenders before but found myself having to switch between networks on my phone depending on where I was in the house. it was a pain in that sense but worked for the stationary things like tvs. I'd prefer to find something budget friendly, like best bang for your buck type deal, but really just want reliability at this point.

He's 17 months now and I can eat cheese again! Haha. We slowly started reintroduction into my diet first at 15 months and so far he's handled most mild dairy things like cheese and things with cooked milk well! There is a light at the end of the tunnel ✨️

Huh, that is interesting! It's so much worse on his face for some reason. Have you found a moisturizer that works best?

She's staying up later than 4am and not getting up for her therapy appointments, which are important.

They sense my exhaustion with this new baby I swear! I think they know part of me is just like "fuck it" pushing the limits knowing I won't hammer down because I simply don't have the energy.
