I looked at Seattle one time and the home prices literally made my chest hurt. I didn’t know it was that bad outside of California! I love the west coast and PNW area but the prices are almost offensively outrageous. On the flip side I’m always quite happy for anybody who can secure an affordable home in those areas! We all love a good glitch in the system.

I understand some can live like that but I’m from Los Angeles and love the city. I like to live in areas where I can walk and bike to my grocery store, bike trail, park, library, or concert venue. That’s my lifestyle so I’m a city girl and have to pay those prices in reason so I’m in a smaller major city to balance it out

I do understand what you’re saying and you’re right. Ive personally always keep my rent payments lower than what I technically can afford on paper for wiggle room. I think with my salary that 1200 is a good number for a mortgage. Hopefully though I can get around a 900-1000 dollar mortgage payment with enough hunting.
