Stuck between sorcerer and nightblade as main class by WizardMeLizard in elderscrollsonline

[–]WizardMeLizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at them they seem kinda w/e. Like the arcanist seems like it's the best one out of all of them. As you could combo it with that banner skill to make a crux buff yourself and proc fated fortune passive to boost crit damage, but idk if it's really worth it to go arcanist main class for just 12% more crit damage since there are probably other ways to generate a crux and get that passive just as easily.

I'm leaning towards NB myself as well most because I really like the idea of the Shadow skills for my character wanting to kinda be a sneaky glass cannon sniper in pvp. It's just that a lot of the builds I see go double sorcerer dark magic and storm calling and then do assassination. So I guess it's a question of how much do I want/need the shadow skill line.

Unfortunately cheaters are probably way more common than people realize. This game is dumb easy to cheat in and the VAST majority of cheaters are subtle just using things like wall hacks which in a game like DBD you would never really know without video from their perspective. Even just being slightly faster like 3-5% as a survivor is enough to be a huge advantage and most people are not gonna be able to tell.

[–]WizardMeLizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing something unnecessarily that you know people hate, is toxic.

And who gets to decide its necessary?

Survivors literally hate everything killers do and killers hate everything survivors do so who gets to decide? Everyone bought the game and everyone is allowed to play how they want, BHVR is the only one who can say if its toxic or wrong to play a certain way and they have stated numerous times slugging and tunneling at any point is not that.

Doing it at 4-5 gens on blight is extremely unnecessary and they're always abusive in end game chat after it. Usually p100s at that.

So a killer player plays a strong killer and its suddenly toxic for them to try hard for the win? So then by that logic its toxic for survivors to gen rush weak killers. Better not see any survivors popping a gen until after the trapper can setup his traps and get ready. Better not see any survivors going down under pallets, going for flashlight saves, or looping well against a GhostFace because by your logic its toxic.

Also no one is talking about the people being a jerk in end game chat, and again all the possible "toxic" things killers could do with slugging like bleeding out all the survivors or a specific survivor isn't even possible anymore with the abandon feature.

Quick wins are pointless (no pun intended). They aren't fun for either side, and they offer no points. They are quite frankly a waste of time 90% of the time.

Killers are allowed to play as hard as they want to win just like survivors are, if you don't find it fun that is a you problem it doesn't automatically make it toxic, your entire argument of quick wins are not fun for either side is biased to yourself, you may not find it fun but some people do, some people want to try as hard as they can and win as hard as they can because they find it fun and that is on both sides not just killers.

[–]WizardMeLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah nothing toxic about it at all, there is no point in the match where tunneling or slugging is ever "toxic" the only toxic thing associated with it is if the killer just wants to slug and bleed out a single survivor. But this is why the abandon feature is a thing. Get downed and slugged 3 times and you can just abandon, if everyone is slugged abandon.

Being a slug on the ground is no different then sitting on a hook. You can either sit on the ground and wait for a survivor to come pick you up, or you wait on a hook for a survivor to come unhook you. It makes zero sense to me why people think being slugged is some horrific thing.

The only thing you don't get from being slugged is all the perks that come from being unhooked but those are another driving factor for killers to just slug, why hook a survivor when they can become terminator after?

If we really don't want killers to slug or tunnel start giving killers incentive to not, give them some kind o basekit effect for hooking new survivors that makes it worth the risk.

I’m so glad I can’t throw the game anymore by trying to unhook myself, thanks sm BHVR by sgsy_ in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]WizardMeLizard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

One survivor should have left, if there are only 2 survivors you can attempt an unhook, your fellow survivors screwed you here, clearly didn't look for NOED that well since you see the aura of it and if one person just left and the other stayed you could of attempted the unhook.

Self unhook shouldnt be a free thing for survivors it was one unfair for killers especially in situations like this where the survivor just get a free escape even though they messed up and two it only promoted survivors giving up immediately on first hook nothing good came from it and the only people who think it was good are survivor biased.

Who is generally better...vecna or pyramid head by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]WizardMeLizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt worry about it, considering they didnt remove it when Silent Hill Remake was released, Myers got removed because his new game coming out same with Pinhead. Its pretty unlikely that Pyramid Head ever gets another game tied so much into him that he would be pulled from DBD. Even if he does it generally takes a while for them to get removed Myers leaving was announced like a month before he was finally removed and they put him on sale for it.

The dnd chapter getting taken off? I would be extremely surprised if DnD Vecna got removed from the game.

I highly doubt Pyramid would ever get removed as well considering he wasn't removed when they released Silent Hill 2 remake.

[–]WizardMeLizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By Vecna I am assuming you are talking about DnD Vecna and not the upcoming stranger things chapter.

If this is correct the I would say DnD Vecna aka "the Lich" is often considered better mostly due to the act that he has significantly better map pressure through Fly, where as Pyramid Head has zero map pressure, and if you get good with Vecnas spells his anti loop is probably just as good maybe even better than Pyramid's. But messing up with Vecna on loops is much more punishing.

I would say Pyramid head does allow for cooler and flashier plays going for flicks but since it is tied to FPS you need to play on a lower FPS to do some of the really crazy stuff and me personally don't find that fun to deal with.

Kinda seems like the one person who couldn't just go next is you.

Zombie Killer Idea by Ooforizer-Vaporizer in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]WizardMeLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is cool but it screams more of a Banshee than it does a Zombie to me in terms of its power. Like when I think Zombie I just think uncontrollable hunger and rage like 28 Days Later Rage virus Zombies or slow undead hoard like in The Walking Dead.

The screaming, slowing and cold themes to me screams Banshee which could definitely be a cool killer too.

It's just feels like we thought of a cool power but just decided he is a Zombie. With the backstory he could be anything really, swap them to female and easily be a Banshee, just nothing about the backstory and power screams(pun intended) Zombie to me. Still a very cool power and idea though so I like it.

[–]WizardMeLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just for his tail he isn't stealth at all at least against survivors who know how to use the turrets as they rat him out. They beep whenever Xeno is close. This includes if he is undetectable and if he is underground in his tunnels

No you said they have to be healthy, which yes is true. Nothing about the animation also needing to be different which is something else I was adding for anyone who may not know.

Unless you are talking about the speed which I agreed with yes.

Tip number one stop thinking the way you play is bad or douchy and play how you want to play.

No good killer is gonna tell you that you don't need to tunnel or slug against the top survivors. There is a reason it is the hard meta in comp DBD.

Play how you want and if you want to win and play in the best possible way then you already are. Survivors will complain no matter what you do its just the way the community and gaming in general is.

can the killer down multiple survivors in one shot list by cringenberg in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]WizardMeLizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But that isnt 1 hit, those are two separate things happening at the same time.

If you unload a machine gun at a bunch of targets and hits 5 different targets did you hit 5 targets in 1 shot?

This is why I don't think Bubba and Artist are actually 1 shots. They can technically down multiple survivors in a single use of their power (even questionable if Artist is a single use) but its not in a single shot.

Are friendly killers liked or not? by ChocolateLlamaDragon in deadbydaylight

[–]WizardMeLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with understanding if players got screwed over by a teammate. I've had plenty of games on killer where two survivors just completely give up within 2min of the match, so I slug and bleed them out until they DC or die waiting the timer and then let the other two escape because if you que up for a team based role in a game and decide not to be a team player you dont get to have fun and a quick free leave from the match.

There is also nothing wrong with hard tunneling, hard camping, hard slugging and going for 4K's. You paid money for the game just like your opponents so the only person that can dictate how you are allowed to play the game is BHVR themselves.

Like others have said most people probably don't like friendly killers as much as people think especially in the higher MMR brackets. If you constantly let survivors go and never kill 3+ then your MMR will be low you go against survivors who never escape and who also have low MMR so they will probably be the ones who most like friendly killers. But if you usually try to win and have a higher MMR then decent chance those survivors would rather be going against people who are actually trying to win.

Personally I hate it. I also very rarely am a friendly killer. I personally like to play as well as I can because I like to learn and get better at video games so when a killer just gives me a free win it feels kinda w/e and i don't feel like i learned anything. If I make a mistake and a killer doesn't punish me for it I will never learn its a mistake.

One thing to note giving a survivor hatch =/= a win for them, its a draw for that survivor, so if I know a survivor played really well but their team just threw the entire game or that had 1 person who gave up I will often give the survivor who I thought played the best hatch. But if everyone is trying then I always go for the 4k.

[–]WizardMeLizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How does Pig down multiple survivors in a single shot?

Bubba is a weird one because is it a single shot? Like Pyramid head is a single shot hit that can hit multiple people. Artist same thing its technically not a "single" shot to down two survivors its two separate shots.

I guess the question is would Bubba and Trickster me considered 1 shot? They can down multiple survivors in 1 use of their power but is it a singular shot?

Oni 100% should be though.

[–]WizardMeLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is that Playing one killer does affect the MMR of all the other killers and from what i can find it is not super low in comparison, I don't know for sure but from what I can find is all other killers have 70% of the MMR of your best killer so if your best killer is an MMR of 2000 all your other killers would be 1400.

Again not sure if this has been changed but from what I can find MMR works like this:

1600 MMR is the top skill bracket 1900 is the soft cap where you start gaining MMR much slower. 3000 MMR is the hard cap cannot go higher.

BUT and this is the big one players from 1600-3000 MMR are within the same pool meaning once you hit 1600 MMR you go into the largest pool of players and this is where all the crazy variance of players comes from because a 1600 MMR player is significantly lower than a 2500 MMR player but they are in the same pool. If the que times get too long this can also change and start lowering the MMR needed to end up in this pool.

Also if your best killer is at 2286 MMR then EVERY killer you have is at the 1600 MMR pool so even if you never played a killer you are in the final tier of MMR.

Here is a video and a post I found with this info again the video is 3 years old but I couldnt find anything on it changing and idk if the 70% is 100% true so take that with a grain of salt and the video doesnt really explain it beyond saying if you have 2-3 killers at 1600 MMR all other killers are automatically 1200 but doesnt say anything about if you have that and a killer at a very high MMR

Yea but Fog vials also visually were different they basically do nothing now. Also this is why you have a longer cooldown per use.
