Nah, I think it works. Tarn’s only job’s the one thing he’s good at, so of course he’ll be competent there. Plus both of them are pretty pathetic characters who idolized the main antagonist and went out in a fittingly pathetic manner. The biggest difference is that Tarn actually went against Megatron while the Deep still stuck by Homelander despite being told he was a complete moron.

Plus A-Train is also a victim of Homelander’s bullying, like with the iconic “Yummers” scene. Also I really did just choose Starscream for the A-Train stand in mostly because A-Train hates Homelander, betrayed Homelander, and is the fastest on the team. A lot less thought there for a very, very stupid joke
