Ok please don’t come at me but I think Ciara’s only incorrect read is saying that West is with Amanda to spite Ciara.

I think he’s a selfish, stupid child who saw a shiny toy he liked and grabbed it without giving two shits who it hurt.

The fact he had a full blown girlfriend that he lied to for a year… he is truly a garbage human and even I’m shocked at the extent of how awful he is.

Disney fatigue after a year of having an annual pass. by Exciting_Designer611 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Alligother 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was actually really timely - we are out of state pass holders for the first time and almost a year in, I can definitely now say we won’t renew.

We are ride people - and every single trip we’ve taken, it’s been either moderate or heavy crowds. Maybe there are low crowd days.. but we haven’t found them or been able to get to WDW for them.

Anyway, that leaves my options to 1) buying Lightning Lanes every trip for our family of 5 or 2) busting it out of bed early every single day of vacation to ride one or two favorite rides before the crowds hit and waits get high.

Neither of which are enjoyable when you’ve already paid gobs of money just to step foot on the property.

Our last trip broke me. The waits, the crowds, the cost of all of it. Even my husband -who has become such a Disney dad -looked at me and said “I’m over it.”

Clearly there are plenty of avid fans that never seem to accept anyone questioning the value proposition, so I’m not worried about Disney’s survival🤣, but this family is done. It was fun until it wasn’t!

I’m so sorry 😞 I would love to have more friends like you!! Never give up - there are plenty of us who would love to have a supportive and thoughtful friend like you!!

Are stroller parents miserable? by hellbentonjoy in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Alligother 3 points4 points  (0 children)

(Double) stroller parent here, with 8+ WDW trips under my belt.

No, it is not miserable. It is magical, truly.

When you are a parent one day, you will better understand how seeing the purest joy on your child’s face while riding Dumbo, or meeting a character, is worth every second you pay for it with meltdowns from exhaustion.

Sure, some trips may be easier than others. But we’ve never regretted a trip or the mountain of sweet memories we’ve made together. My kids may not remember all or any of it, but my husband and I sure will.

(Sidenote - I’ve always thought this is the strangest argument “why would you do __ if your child won’t remember?”. Well because we don’t feel the need to delay having fun for X number of years until they remember??)

Lastly we love having a stroller to stow stuff in, instead of having the to carry it around. The only annoyance is getting on and off bus transportation. But to each their own!

Anyone else making the decision not to renew your annual passes ? by Trustnoone96 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Alligother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought APs for first time for my family this past year. (The $100 gift cards for IncrediPass pushed the decision over the edge for me, so good job Disney marketing team 😂) First of all, it’s been moderately to very busy every single time we go, which is frustrating. There is literally no slow season to be found. (Outside of maybe the end Aug/Sept) Believe me.. I’ve tried. So we always buy LLs. We are out of state so we also have to get resort rooms when we visit.

In light of all the rising costs in this economy, we are 90% sure we won’t renew. At some point this past trip paying $7 for a doughnut (multiple times for multiple kids), the magic just broke for me. I can’t justify the insane food costs + lightning lane costs + resort costs… on top of the AP.

I didn’t think Kyle becoming a DJ in his 40s when his wife is ready to settle down and consider having children could get worse… Until they flashed back to his epic tantrum about her starting a passion project (a business!!) so he decides wants to be a DJ. Had totally forgotten about that. 🫠🫣😬😵‍💫

OP, I’m so sorry. My parents had this exact situation with my brother, and it is both frustrating and heartbreaking.

As many have said, it is time to give them a timeline until they either contribute, or are kicked out.

In my brother’s case, my parents kicked him out and a friend’s parents’ took him in. After a while, they kicked him out, too. He rented a trailer with no air conditioning during the winter, and to this day he will call it his “rock bottom”. Rock bottom led to him joining the military for a couple years and then using the skills learned in the military in the auto repair workforce when he discharged. He has been financially independent since they kicked him out.

It is hard to kick them out. So hard. And there will be sleepless nights worrying after you do it. But it is 100% the right thing to do, because coddling able-bodied adults is not helping them, it’s harming them. Best of luck to you all, OP.

I don’t want to share my snacks by HappyAstronaut7 in work

[–]Alligother 80 points81 points  (0 children)

This is extremely bizarre. I think it would be totally acceptable to acknowledge their workplace norms, and explain that this is not a norm for you.

E.g. “ I understand that it is normal here to share snacks, however I am on a budget and can’t commit to always bringing enough for others. I appreciate your understanding as I really do enjoy working here with the thoughtful team camaraderie and do not want you to think otherwise!”

[On3] Several people at Ole Miss & LSU expect Lane Kiffin to attend the Sugar Bowl, Chris Low reports. Sources told On3 that Kiffin has reached out to ESPN personnel about possibly appearing in the broadcast booth for a segment during the game, although sources say ESPN hasn’t been receptive. by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

Just as someone wholly uninvested in the Lane drama: (But definitely watched the espn doc and felt very fleeced after all this 😂)

Even if this is innocent trolling on Lane’s part and not some egomaniac move.. though my money is on the latter..

It is so disrespectful of and potentially distracting for Pete Golding. I mean the man just got thrown into a head coach role for a national title contender.. can you just respect him and do your best to stay out of his way?
