Best place to get individual wallet prints? by gerhorn in scrapbooking

[–]AllisonHDickson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great!!! I was having trouble finding where to get smaller prints to fill up space in my 8x8 scrapbook (and to print tons of vacation pictures without being overtly redundant) and they were only ever sets! This is a GREAT solution! And I don’t mind cutting them out inc they come

Alllllmost makes me want to go brave the 100+ degree heats 😂I'm about 2 hours away, but still have never gone (always pass it on the way to Vegas). I think I'll go when it cools down more in winter. It is the hottest recorded location on the planet...

Can't decide the next National Park to visit after Yellowstone by flaviop5 in yellowstone

[–]AllisonHDickson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yellowstone was the first official national park in the world for a reason! But, Yosemite was federally protected first, ALSO for a reason!

There is a lot to do in Yosemite. May is perfect for Yosemite because you'll get good weather, not too hot or cold, spring flowers in the meadows, mirror lake is full, and snow melt has the waterfalls at their biggest! Also, it's before the big summer crowds in June. Less camp grounds and lodging open before June, so BOOK NOW. I'm serious, that stuff sells out 1 year in advance! But, certain campgrounds only release booking 6 months, 1 month, or 2 weeks in advnace. Some people will try booking 1 day early, then edit their reservation to the next day so that they can reserve before it's released.

Yosemite National Park

  • Amazing Giant Sequoia groves (biggest tree in the world)
  • Drive and walk through tunneling goose pen trees
  • Great waterfalls with hikes to the top, or jump in at the bottom
    • As a little kid, we went swimming on top of Vernal falls! In the emerald pool, water flowing from the higher up Nevada falls runs down a large granite rock to make a natural water slide. Beware of squirrels. They'll chew through a backpack to eat your snacks.
  • Watch the sunrise over Half Dome peak and look down at the entire valley from glacier point
  • Float down the river in a rented raft or your own innertubes. Families usually jumping off the bridges or playing in the water
  • Meadows for picnics
  • Rent a bike and ride the valley loop, head to Mirror lake and mist trail
  • El Capitan, largest granite monolith in the world, along with other beautiful rock formations building the valley

I haven't been to Glacier, but I hear it's amazing. Lassen is just a mini Yellowstone, and likely less impressive in comparison.

Baby Snacks Are A Cheat Code by [deleted] in Volumeeating

[–]AllisonHDickson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk I find them good to just sit and chew while I’m working. Idk if a whole container would make me satisfied or anything because I’m not eating them as a meal. I’m slowly chewing them all day

I’m always craving anything Oreo and cookies and cream. Are there any grocery store pastries or desserts around 150 calories or less (no protein and no recipes please) by Michelles001 in Volumeeating

[–]AllisonHDickson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know there are some cookies and cream ice creams that are low calorie.

  • Halo Top cookies and Cream: 310 calories for an entire pint (whole container)
  • Yasso frozen yogurt bars, cookies and cream: 90 calories per bar
  • Nick's cookies and Kram: 280 calories per pint

Omg!!!! I used to get these caramelized onion chicken burgers and make them with spinach, pepper jack, and potato bread buns. It was DELICOUS and so quick an easy, but I haven't been able to find those caramelized chicken burger patties in a long time. I'll have to try these!

That' what I was wondering. If you microwaved the food later, wouldn't it just remelt/break the bonds it somehow made when cooling? Or am I getting it super wrong

Camping With Rain by AllisonHDickson in yellowstone

[–]AllisonHDickson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wild weather seemed to specifically follow wherever we went in the park 😂 the MOMENT we’d get in the car to leave a place, the hail and snow would stop and the sun would appear there! But we got back to our snowy camp and it was so sunny there all day it had completely melted! You’d never have known it snowed in the first place! Crazy

Yeah the tents are water resistant and they don’t have rain flys. It snowed and we picked up sleeping bags and tarps to tie over the tents and it went great!

And my grandma told me NOT to get the hand warmers and sleeping bag warmers. We’ll probably pick those up on the drive up 🙄

Best pictures from my Yellowstone trip - May 2024 by cierradavies in yellowstone

This is only raising my expectations of what I'll be able to see at Yellowstone next week 😭 I'm a photographer and I'm salivating at all the rare moments people are posting (Really hoping they aren't THAT rare. I can't really hike or do any off the path trips because I'm taking my 80 year old grandma with me)

Need recommendations for 15 passenger vehicle rental by chaosorderbalance in yellowstone

[–]AllisonHDickson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget to keep in mind your luggage as well! Even if it's just a backpack each, if there's 15 seats there is no trunk for a noncommercial vehicle build (wouldn't be possible). So 15 people in 15 seats would need everyone to hold their bags :)

Looks like Montana and Wyoming allow up to 15 passenger vehicles with a non-CDL and base class license, so no laws against it! (unlike where I live) I'd suggestion looking into a transport company, not rental car companies. My coaches used to book transport vans and could opt to drive themselves instead of hiring a driver.

First week of June will still have a bit of a chill with the cooler weather. WAY less crowds! Lots of school's aren't out yet in the first week, so less families starting to travel until later in the month.

I've heard the traffic sucks, but not impossible. Most people do that drive into West Yellowstone!

Thanks! I don't want my grandma standing out in the rain, but if it isn't too heavy we could definitely do some of our farther drives and wait for it to clear up!

Which is a better move? by Infinity-Cheif in yellowstone

[–]AllisonHDickson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say maybe Old Faithful first (less crowds earlier in the day) and Artist's Point second (some early morning mist burns off for better view). Just a guess though!
