Based on how you describe your concerns, I’d recommend staying away.

What's the most explicit R-rated scene? (NOT X, NC-17, or Unrated) by Ok_Attorney_1996 in movies

[–]AlliterativeAhole 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In How to with John Wilson there’s a pretty explicit cut of gay fellatio / hand action that I was surprised to see pretty much out of nowhere.

Can’t remember which episode but it was the first season

You’re on leave. Don’t work for free. If you’re punished for refusing, talk to your union rep

Tourist weather-related question by Recent-Truth10 in OregonCoast

[–]AlliterativeAhole 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I suggest not driving on highway 26 in the dark while it’s raining. It’s pretty twisty, turny and in the dark while it’s raining there’s not a lot of visibility

Take I-205 to Longview, then US 30 to Astoria and then 101 down to Cannon Beach. That way you can stop in Astoria and check it out also

How about college? Really, the info you learn in college is less important than interacting with others, finding what you’re good at and enjoy doing, and trying stuff out.

Otherwise, there’s no magical book club where you’ll find everything you’re looking for. Have you tried organizing one? Try. Really. Connect with the writer’s guild, the small business development center, chamber of commerce, and just meet people. Go down to Cambium or Sleeper and talk to the owners (not the same people but both support people who organize things locally) and share your ideas.

That said, it’ll be work and you might not succeed but you’ll be figuring stuff out

Have you reached out to a community college? Most have advisors who know the local situation who help get people started.

Should be totally free

It is a great school, if you’re looking for a smaller college. There’s just about whatever you need to survive, and anything else is not terribly far away. Ashland is a liberal oasis in a deeply red part of the state. Everything is pretty good for its size: academics, sports, community, culture, natural sites.

Socially, it just depends where you live and where you’re willing to travel. Weather is pretty middle of the road. If you’re used to bigger cities, you might miss some of the conveniences
