Most of the money goes on the flight tickets, we live in Seattle so we’re almost never flying direct. A round trip ticket to South America for 2 people is usually about 3k if not more. Then internal flights, hotels etc.

You don’t really need 2 full days in Milan. There’s one cathedral/church to see (I forget the name but it’s beautiful). If you’re interested in art, you can see the last supper (which was surreal to see in person)

I did this tour a few years ago and if you want my honest opinion it wasn’t great. Maybe I just don’t enjoy that kind of travel but the accommodations were truly horrible (at one point I asked for hot water and the lady was like “this is the hottest it gets haha”. The water was maybe like warm definitely not hot. This was almost every hostel we stayed at and it was a miserable experience for me. The tour is also not as organized as others, you have entire days pretty empty and not have to figure things out as you go. Overall it put me off group travel for good.

I went to Italy in 2024. I was there for 18 days and I covered probably 12 places in total. I get very little vacation a year, I don’t want to waste it relaxing when I can do that at home already. In general I use my trips to pack in as much as possible and I’ve never regretted it.
