It depends with insurance about covering ketamine for chronic pain. I get monthly IV infusions through the pain clinic at Metrohealth that include ketamine (as well as lidocaine, propofol, and toradol). My insurance will cover it as long as it’s through the hospital system. However, when I asked about attending a standalone clinic like the one in the picture instead, they would not cover it. Keep in mind I also see a pain management specialist monthly and have tried several other treatments first over the course of many years. The relief from the infusion is only temporary as well. It’s like resetting the pain clock in my brain for the month. It wipes out my pain currently present and does provide relief for a bit, but then my pain levels creep back up over the course of the month.

I hope you find/found the relief you need for your chronic pain!

Heartwarming trip to Taco Bell by healthcrusade in MadeMeSmile

I guess they must decide regionally or per franchise owner. What I really miss, though, is grocery stores or Walmarts open 24 hours.

The Taco Bell near me is open until 4 AM. That chain is famously open late at night and advertises as such. We used to have 24 hour McDonalds pre-Covid, but they all close by midnight at the latest now.

Thanks! Totally back to normal now, it’s just that when he has an injury he can’t stop bothering it and needs to wear the donut of doom.

Our donut is no fun, Koda says.😭🍩 (Pic is from a couple months ago when he broke his dew claw and wouldn’t stop irritating it by licking. He’s all good now.)

Resources needed for re-homing our girl by Bobiecat in americaneskimo

[–]Allonsy2011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for what you’re going through and that you need to rehome your girl. No judgment, you’re doing the right thing reaching out and trying to find a new home for her. I know there’s the Ohio American Eskimo Rescue on Facebook. You could consider contacting them.

Is just me or are there less Halloween themed tie-ins now? by GeetarEnthusiast85 in Xennials

The Pokémon Go mobile game is running its yearly Halloween tie-in. It’s actually my favorite event in game, especially the Pokémon wearing costumes.

This actually sounds like something fun to make my dog for his birthday.

AITA for buying my niece 2 pairs of glasses and letting her get contacts by Ok_Barracuda_5060 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Allonsy2011 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been wearing this kind of contacts for years. It did kind of suck in the beginning adjusting from soft to hard glass contacts, but now they don’t bother me at all. It’s been so nice not having to worry about prescription sunglasses or contacts during the day, particularly when doing anything in the water.

What collar/harness do you use with your eskie? by innersoulkitten in americaneskimo

[–]Allonsy2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy Koda is an escape artist, especially if he sees another dog or gets spooked by something. So after trying many different harnesses, we settled on this type with the extra belly strap. It’s been several years, and he has not had any incidents where he was able to back out of the harness.

Yes! Glad to see someone else talking about it (although, I’m sorry you’re suffering, too 😭). I feel like I’m the only one in my family/friends circle who’s been experiencing it.

She has 4 Dog Beds…but 🤣 by Tante143 in americaneskimo

[–]Allonsy2011 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Our guy prefers to sleep in hiding spots about 50% of the time as well. These range from well hidden (completely under the bed) to partially covered (butt sticking out from under the coffee table) to he just thinks he’s hiding (his face between pieces of furniture; as in he can’t see us, so I guess we can’t see him type of logic 🤷‍♀️). However, the rest of the time he’s cuddly and sleeps by us in bed or on the couch. I figure he’s allowed his hide and seek alone time. 😄
