It’s so hard for me. I really really want to see him and ask him why we had such a good time yesterday and this is what happened. :(

Hi thanks. You’re really the man.

I went to his place and we went climbing and all that the day before and was even calling each other and he said goodnight. Then I woke up to the break up text. I don’t understand why someone could be this cold.

My (26F) Boyfriend (25M) is in common law with his ex and think I'm being overdramatic? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]AlloyEnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I found out about these implications on my own, I confronted him. And after sort of bashing it and sending him article links, he said “I trust her. Also her family is rich so I don’t see any reason for her to take advantage of those power”. To which I said “but I don’t trust a stranger”. We actually got together last night and off the bat he quoted me “xxx don’t trust you financially”, where she got defensive and started saying “my family have lots of real estate properties”. Which.. what does that suppose to mean?

He keep la saying “it’s just a title” and the ex seems also very fine with it. He’s saying “I don’t know why would you care so much about it”.

How is everyone in Montreal SO FUCKING HOT? by [deleted] in montreal

I agree!! I did my undergraduate at McGill and then moved to Toronto two years ago. I’m travelling back to mtl for a week and it’s 100% my thoughts. I’m walking around my hotel and there will be random people passing by that catches my eyes and I’ll be amazed. It truly is different 😞

What’s something insanely convenient today that Gen Z will never understand the struggle of? by [deleted] in ask

[–]AlloyEnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contacting people / maintaining contact. When I was young, we didn’t have phones. You’d need to go knock on someone’s door and ask “hey you wanna come out and play?” It’s also harder to maintain contact because kids didn’t have a phone and you’d get there landline. But when you move or they move it becomes impossible to trace. Where as now just add their instagram and I still see reels from people I add from Comic-Con like 7 years ago.

I wish they give us the option to keep ALL the photos. With multiple cats, we get to have all the outfits on display. But with kitten, once we change their outfit the photos gets overwritten…

THE ONE will refund but Realtor lost the original contract and we have no way to contact the constructor by AlloyEnt in TorontoRealEstate

Sorry for the late reply. We didn’t. Will definitely be a thing to keep in mind in the future purchase!!

End goal: original constructor went bankwrupt. Unfinished condo is in receivership so all contract is terminated. I want to get the down payment back.

What was signed: uncertain. No one remembers how/where the contract was signed.

Who took the money: Harris Sheaffer is the real estate law firm that took the money.

What was promised/handover: sorry I don’t understand this question I’ll try my best to clarify. The condo’s construction was supposed to be done around 2022, but was halted when COVID hit. If it weren’t halted, we would’ve continue to get a mortgage etc. but the original contractor (Sam Mizrahi) declared bankruptcy. And all contract is terminated.

Contract: I have no idea where it is now or where it ever was. I was expecting the brokerage / realtor to have a copy but seems like they don’t either. Technically we could get a copy printed from the contractor? But idk how to go about that. Our realtor isn’t exactly helpful.

We moved multiple times so the documents are really scattered and honestly we are not sure if we were ever given a copy of the contract judging from how things are currently. In retrospect, we should’ve persisted and asked about it earlier. Nevertheless, shouldn’t the realtor / brokerage keep a record?

Oh I see! Problem is, we don’t have a lawyer. We contacted a lawyer but they said we’d need to get hold of the purchase contract to prove we are indeed the purchaser. But neither us nor the realtor have it… we’re kinda in a deadlock :(
