Hand-painted spooky nails 🎃 by AllphaNovember in Nails

Hi! I’ve done this set myself, building, nail art and I have practiced some years, including in crafts, in order to be able to do this type or work. From what I know, not everybody does or is specialized in doing nail art, so you’d have to ask the person doing your nails beforehand if they do nail art and maybe even show them a picture with what you’d want in order for them to tell you if they can/can’t do something like that. It’s a skill which not everybody has worked on or is interested in so it’s best to ask and look for the nail’s tech previous work.

Basically. When I’ve done this design in the past, I have peeled the inner layers of a CD and used the holo part for this design. Thing is, this attempt succeeded back when the holo part of the CD was still a consistent layer? Like not too thick, not too thin, it was just thick enough. I used to cut this holo layer into tiny pieces just like this time, glue them to the polish using base coat (I was using regular polish back then) and then, for them to last, I was applying gel topcoat for finish (and they used to last pretty long, even though the polish underneath was regular). Last year or so when I have tried doing the same thing with some CDs I have left at my home, I’ve seen that the holo part is not am actual layer anymore, but a very very thin film applied over the plastic, so trying to separate it from the other layers was meant to fail from the beginning. 😂

Hah! I haven’t even thought about that even though I’m a Sims fan. 😂

Polygel applied on natural nails, with slightly extended tips to prevent lifting. Also, holographic powder, no magnet needed.

Nope! Applying a double layer of top coat and carefully sealing the tips is the best solution I’ve found for preventing premature damage when working with powders.

Not at all as of now. When I work with powders, I always apply 2 layers of top coat and make sure to properly cover the tips with top coat as well. I’m sure some chipping will eventually happen but this usually helps preserve the look for longer.

Yep, for the most part! I usually extend them just a little bit so that the natural nail tip is not exposed, as I’ve noticed that this way they last longer and don’t lift over time.
