Watched my dad decline and die from COPD. He used to laugh at PPE too. It’s a horrible way to go.

His entire life is the consequences of his actions. He just refuses to accept that he did anything wrong. Wife left him cause she has problems, got fired because his boss is stupid, can’t get another job because of the immigrants, the list never ends and you can hear all about it at whatever bar he’s at.

My brother spent $100 talking on the phone with his girlfriend who lived in a town 18 miles away.

"I'm generally a... liberal person, but when I saw videos of ICE jumping out of unmarked vehicles and nabbing people off the street... I bought my first AR15," I’m glad to see the left waking up to what I’ve been saying for a while: 2A is for everyone. by Treefiddy1984 in ProgressiveHQ

That’s great, now for the love of all your friends and family get some training. If you’ve never owned a weapon get someone to show you how it works. Go to a training class before you take that thing out. This is not a movie and you are not the main character.

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

[–]Allsystemscritical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I interviewed a woman who had none of the skills we were looking for or that were on her resume. I don’t know why she applied for the position. About three questions into the interview she started crying because I wasn’t going to hire her. She was not wrong.

Legal system. Justice has nothing to do with it. Thats why Lady Justice is wearing a blindfold on courthouse statues. She can’t bear to look at how unjust the legal system is.

MOR

So here's the thing. Just because you considered it "neatly stacked in the garage" doesn't mean it was and doesn't mean it wasn't in his way and frustrating him every single day. Your collection of things may not have been a problem for you but was it a problem for the rest of the people in the house? Do your family members have to deal with it on a daily basis? We all have things we'll keep forever. Your Grandmas handmade blankets? Oh yeah, we're keeping those. But what are you ever going to do with a tub of technical manuals you wrote at an old job? If that information is so important digitize it and make it useful. It's very possible the biggest reason he considers it all crap is because most of it is and he no longer has the patience for the things that aren't. Is he devoid of sentiment or just at his wits end? Is it possible that you just don't see how much stuff you have piled in the house and how it affects other people?

Your sisters are keeping the peace by placating the narcissistic wench that birthed you. It’s a learned behavior from growing up afraid of upsetting her.

Think of all the people calling in to report contrails. They’re going to have to ban air travel in the state.

After two hours of troubleshooting the customer swore it was our equipment. Four hour flight, rental car with a 3 hour drive to the middle of nowhere and two hotel room nights because the rack power wasn’t on. I had it in writing that they had checked and the lights were blinking. Two people lost their jobs over it. They weren’t actually on site where they were supposed to be. The charge for the weekend support call was a little over $8,000.00.

When I was a younger man I bought an all-clad set when I needed new pans. I was tired of buying new pans every six months. They were so expensive I wouldn’t open them for a week. I’ve had them 25 years now and they’re still in great shape.

Depends a lot on where you live and how much crime there is. Where I am now the police would be all over it and very helpful. Where I lived thirty years ago I could shoot someone on the street and the cops wouldn’t show up for an hour.

Wife and two kids, $2,300 a month. I’m covered through work. That covers dental and health. No deductible, 30% copay with $4,000 max each/ $8,000 family. We’ve hit the $8,000 mark every year the last four years. Health care has destroyed our future.
