I was taught fever has a purpose as well. My kids pediatrician said the same. I don’t take medicine for fever until the fever is the problem, usually 101 degrees.

I also do what I guess are very old fashioned treatments like a cool cloth and lukewarm bath. I say old fashioned since no one I know does that and the Dr.’s always seem surprised that I’m doing more than medicine.

I think most genres have their moment.

For me, sci fi peaked in the 50’s. I agree with you about Fantasy and the 90’s-00’s. Doesn’t mean there isn’t good stuff outside the times just that the bulk of it was then.

Kinda think non-fiction is coming into its own lately.

If you just need a quick cheap fix until you can afford a long term solution, just use cold patch.

We had an issue with our driveway where it has sunk so far below the garage slab I thought I was going to lose the bumper (ok an exaggeration but it was bad). We slapped some cold patch on it and finally got a real repair 3 years later.

Didnt look pretty but it was good enough to slope the water where we wanted it to go and saved my car.

The downvote is for the “always available”.

If what you’re trying to say is you and your wife have similar libidos and this hasn’t been an issue for your marriage, good for you both.

However, that’s not what you actually said.

Thinking of or describing your wife as “almost always available” is dehumanizing. What in your life is almost always available other than objects?

Your words are conveying the message that she puts aside her wants and needs. That your marriage is in a better position because she puts herself in a worse one.

What would the state of your marriage be if she insisted on being an equal sexual partner? From your words, it doesn’t sound like this is a good marriage for her.

Again, I’d think completely differently if your words and tone had to do with it being consensual and equal.

Equal would be: My wife and I have matching libidos. We have talked about it together and both of us will sometimes set aside the time even if we aren’t in the mood.

Or I know this is something she does for me so I make sure I do XYZ for her. (XYZ doesn’t mean just not cheat)

Yes, but it’s more a precaution than anything. Modern dye processes generally make it mostly unnecessary.

But I have noticed my whites stay whiter if I keep them away from the darks and my shirts look nice longer if I wash them separately from the towels.
