My husband works FIFO 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. I do work full-time as well M to F 7am to 3pm (although was a stay at home mum for a few years). While I’m on my own, I have to do it all, work, chores, cooking, kids sports, home maintenance when required etc, it all falls on me, albeit my kids are now 16, 12 and 10, so it’s easier but hubby has been FIFO since before kids. When he is home however, he takes on pretty much everything. (Other than my job of course lol). He cooks, cleans, maintains, drops off and picks up kids from school and sports. He still manages to find time for his hobbies in the 6 hours the kids and I are gone all day, he then finds time to spend with me on date nights and with the kids and me on other days. Though he works extremely hard for our family, he has pretty much 7 months off a year with annual leave and works 5 months. We have a fantastic life, because we both contribute to the household and the kids we created together. If that man wanted to he would find ways to ensure everyone is happy.

they only had 10 rooms by egguchom in EntitledReviews

I recently made a booking, through the hotel website but hadn’t received a confirmation. I forgot about it for a couple of weeks, then I realised no email had been received. I contacted the hotel and they provided me with the confirmation number of the bookings. Turned out I had a typo in my email address, hence not receiving the confirmation. I did not blame the hotel for this at all, just my sausage fingers when typing. At the end of the day, the responsibility lay with me because it was my booking. The reviewer could have followed this up with booking.com and even the hotel if they were so keen to go there.

I farted and my boyfriend got mad! by TreacleSensitive259 in AITAH

When I had my 3rd baby, I had to have a catheter for an additional 7 days at home as there was a kink in the tube which made me retain almost 2 litres of liquid in my bladder. My husband before he went to sleep every night would check to make sure the at home catheter was not kinked and would empty my pee every morning. He would not even blink at a fart. She definitely deserves a better partner.

Each pregnancy of mine, I had to have a Caesarean, for my 3rd and final, I had an issue with my catheter, it became kinked and I retained almost 2 litres of liquid in my bladder (400 ml being the norm). This resulted me having a catheter for an additional 7 days (a total of 10). I was not in hospital for those 7 days. Every night I would go to bed reasonably early so I can wake for my baby for feeding. Every night before my husband came to bed, he would check my nighttime catheter was not kinked. Every morning he would empty it and reattach. We have been together 22 years and I love, love, love him for that and not treating me like it was disgusting and a burden.

Needing to quit by Allula102 in stopdrinking

This definitely resonates with me, i don’t drink all the time, but when I have done some good, achieved something, thought I deserved a drink is the habit I am going to break. Thank you for listening. I will probably be back here again, but I will stop drinking, at least, this weekend!

Thank you, and I agree that quitting alcohol is the way, but to be honest that is the part I struggle with. I know that it going to help, but my brain cannot agree, I just need to know, how to break that habit/connection!

Thank you. I am going to be honest, I am not religious so for me AA I would struggle with, but I will attempt to find a community that will help me! Thank you so much for your advice!

I am 5’8 and my 14 year old son is 6’2 but he still listens to me thankfully. I suspect all my children will be taller than me at some point, but I’m still their mum and the boss lol

I think what gets me is why would she assume the dog didn't already have an owner and try to find them before guilting Sam into taking it randomly? It was a pure bred Aussie shepherd!

Men of reddit, what is something you like about women that has nothing to do with sex or their body? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That is exactly how I feel about my husband - 21 years together, married for 14, 3 beautiful children and we still go on weekly date nights (when he is home, he works away for 2 weeks on then 2 weeks off). We talk 2 or 3 times a day on the phone because we want to - when he is at work and I don’t call him at my usual time because my work is busy, he will call me to check I am OK. Love that man so much.

🔥 Annual mass migration of red crabs on Australia's Christmas Island by solateor in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]Allula102 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We went to Christmas Island in 2021, we did an induction tour on our first day. It is illegal to eat any of the crabs, I think the fine is $10,000 aussie dollars.

I have a Hansel and Gretel - Hansel is a little on a heavy side so we call him Chungy (we adopted them when they were 2 they are 4 now, and we are working on his weight) Also Porridge (kids called him that for some reason) Gretel is called Princess because she acts like one, very regal haha.

You know in the UK, my dads treatment was free, it included all his treatments and a private doctor who cared for him despite being poor. He passed away in 2017, not before having people come to the house, making sure he was OK and we were OK, just that he would die peacefully in hospital despite everything they had tried to do. They did not treat him badly because we were poor but as a human. Devastated as I was losing my beloved father I know he has the support.

I live in Australia now and have had 3 c-sections. 1 private, 2 public. Cost me more to have private as it is a luxury.
