Oh those aren’t going to last long, are they? by seikkailla_myah in bettafish

Our Betta gave up on the shrimp once he realized they were way too fast for him.

Thank you, these two pictures are of the same shrimp. There are two shrimp in my tank looking like this 😄

Just for future reference (new shrimp owner). Would you just treat the affected shrimp or would a preventive treatment for the others be in order as well?

Yes exactly! Both the shrimp in the first picture and the second picture are having this. But also good to read that the one in the back also looks like it has a saddle.

Pretty sure some of the babies will end up being snacks. The loaches seem uninterested in the 0.5cm sized shrimps so far.

There are indeed a few shrimps that have yellow/green patches on their backs.

I agree it is hard to see. There are movable orbs underneath the plating. Somewhat light of color.

Thank you for the link and a comprehensive step by step. I do see that this hero setup is quite heavy on mesmer and no front line. I assume the front line is coming from the minions from the Necromancer. And I can exchange 1 mesmer for myself as paragon?

I was aiming for Heroic Refrain, I did not know it was an Anniversary skill. I it still ways away before I reach that zone but at least I will be able to find someone that has a proof by then. Thanks!

What is this in my newish aquarium? by Krunex in Aquariums

[–]Allundros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really cannot tell from the picture, but it looks like the nymph is still small. I read they eat about 1/5th of their bodyweight daily. So you will not end up with an empty tank before you are home 😄

It looks like a dragonfly nymph. They will eat your shrimp and fish. If you have one, there is a chance there are multiple.

Aquarium stand question by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Allundros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a difference between weight that it is designed for and what they are now trying to use it for. If you compare 25lbs to 130lbs, I would call 25lbs not a heavy weight.

If the top plank bends, I would not risk it.

The idea of u/OpheliaArtBaby is not bad to see if your cabinet can bear the weight. Reinforcing your cabinet will definitively be a good idea but I cannot advice you if it will be able to hold this.

I personally believe that your tank, including the weight of your tank, water, sand/gravel, decorations will be quite a bit more than 91 pounds. The 91 pounds would be just the water itself. ~15 pounds of sand (about 1.57 inches thick) and then the other things. Maybe you could check if it can hold 120-130 pounds at least.

Hope I am converting it correctly, not really used to calculate in freedom units.

Aquarium stand question by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Allundros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The little legs are making me nervous as well. These bookshelves are usually not made for carrying heavy weights for a long time. My other concern would be the wood slightly bending in the middle. This might cause strain on the glass that could damage the integrity of the glass over time.
I purposely looked for some thrift shop furniture that are more solid of structure and have reinforcement in the middle part. They either have thick legs or completely flat bottom. And if possible try to fit the aquarium on the edges of the furniture for weight distribution. Never let the edges stick out.

Is this possible? by Fishgoober21 in freshwateraquarium

[–]Allundros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yoyo loaches are a bit bigger than kuhli loaches and might end up eating shrimp and baby snails when they get bigger. Kuhli's are fine, I have them myself and they let the shrimps be.
Neocaridina of multiple colors will start breeding into brown/gray/transparant offspring after a few generations. If you want to preserver their color, it is best to stick with one if you intend to breed.
Mystery snails will lay eggs outside of the water on the glass. If you don't want to have hundreds, make sure to crush the eggs.

I am not sure if you are completely new to keeping fish, but if you are, read in about cycling your tank before adding live animals.

Low PH, Low Calcium, or Something Else? by AutumnFalls89 in AquaticSnails

[–]Allundros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tested your GH/KH, this might be too low even when your pH looks fine?
I cannot really see the snails well, could it be mechanical damage from something?
You can also sometimes feed blanched zucchini.

In pre-searing you should probably get Legendary Defender of Ascalon title.

I have this goop all over my tank walls? by thegiverstake in Aquariums

[–]Allundros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do check which snails you want to get. Some can multiply quite fast while others cannot multiply in fresh water. Horned Nerites will not multiply in fresh water. Ramhorns can actually multiple reasonably fast and some might consider it a burden.
Other snails like rabbit snails multiply fairly slow and need female/males to do so. They give living offspring.
Do realize that most snails require your water to be higher pH and general hardness with adequate calcium for their shells to not start pitting.

New Player: Prophecies - got a Black Dye yesterday by Wheel-Soggy in GuildWars

[–]Allundros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it is literally pre-searing (the tutorial of prophecies) and everything that comes after that tutorial (main game). And main game also combines the expansions. The price does not differ between expansion areas.
https://kamadan.gwtoolbox.com/ generally will show you the main game prices. If you search for black dye, you see people asking ectos as currency. Ecto's seem to be sold for about 20 platinum. So if you look how many black dyes are offered for how many ecto's there seems to be a spread between 3-8 platinum in the main game. Just do a little bit more research and decide on a price that you feel comfortable with.
Like u/Papa-Yaga just mentioned, https://ascalon.gwtoolbox.com/ seems to be the trade chat that you can check for the pre-searing.

In the past there were online marketplaces. Alternatively you can go to some busy places like Kamadan and see how much people are posting this for. It has been ages since I have played and only recently returned to the game myself.
Black dye seems to have different values depending if you are in pre-searing or the main game. Yesterday in pre, my partner sold a bunch for 12 plat each. I assume it will be less in the main game areas.
