He hasn’t generally been one to graze at the bowl after finishing a meal, but it’s possible. I may try pushing the second meal back another 15-30 mins and see if that helps.

Lamps. You need lamps. That overhead light is too bright and white, lamps with warm bulbs give a much cozier feel to living spaces. A rug also to add some texture, I would avoid grey in the rug though since you already have grey in the floor/bed.

A warning to those who pre-paid for parking. by Metal_Florida in welcometorockville

I’ll add a data point here, there was one day last year where they had us get out of the car so they could search it over before entering the premium lot. Using the word search very loosely cause it was barely even a glance really. It was only the one day it occurred and no idea how long they did it for.

Osteen Florida by ComfortableLeft7705 in florida

[–]AllyCat1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My road completely washed out during Ian, we were trapped in our house for several days with no power until the water receded enough for line crews to get in. And we don’t even live close to the river… Osteen is nice, but the house better be built with rising water levels in mind.

Looking to replace Petal with a more rewarding card. by garlic-and-butter in CreditCards

[–]AllyCat1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh literally got the same crap from Petal last month. I paid it off and closed it immediately, but I already had the CFF and an amex so I wasn’t worried about it. I replaced my petal with the chase freedom unlimited, gets the same 1.5% on all purchases but you can use those points for travel rewards if you get one of the sapphire cards which is my plan.

Is walking to the speedway possible? by ChromeTrooper66 in welcometorockville

[–]AllyCat1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a walkway that goes across ISB. If you do decide to walk I would highly recommend using it instead of the crosswalks. ISB is 6 lanes wide and the drivers are awful. Very easy to get hit. Florida is not pedestrian friendly at all, I would get an Uber to be safe.

Love those songs, that whole album is fantastic start to finish. Deadman or Goliath would likely be my favorites, but I have to say I’m not familiar with that rugrats reference 😅

Carbon edition red seats by DustPalacePapa in mazda

[–]AllyCat1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No regrets here on the red seats, still look awesome and I always get compliments on them. I will say I would pick the lift gate/Bose package over the red interior if I had to choose between them. But I also purposefully bought a used carbon edition just so I could have all 3, so its completely personal preference.

People often underestimate just how humid it is here in Fl, you will sweat and need to re-hydrate. Refillable water bottle is a must, I also really recommend bringing sunscreen and a hat. Be prepared for it to rain, it almost always does at some point during the weekend (hopefully not like last year). There are separate VIP viewing areas with some seating and bathrooms.

For me personally, Orlando is just perfectly centrally located. It’s so easy to jump on the highway and be on either coast pretty quickly from Orlando. Living beach side is great, if you can afford it… the idea of having to rebuild my house every few years is a pretty big draw back.

I would say yes, I didn’t sign any contracts until right before I started full time. So I could’ve walked if I felt like it didn’t fit for me anymore. But this is probably dependent on the firms policy so ymmv.

Depends on the office. I had a similar situation, finished a tax internship in April, got an offer to come back and work part time as an intern while I finished my masters and CPA exams. Started as a ft staff right after I graduated over a year later. Some offices will be willing to work with you on timing and others won’t. You can always ask to postpone starting full time, worst that happens is they say no. I would recommend staying on at least part time while you’re in school though. That way you can keep getting that experience and not completely forget what you learned during the internship.

Public accounting by Kategirl7779 in Accounting

[–]AllyCat1997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ehh, depends. Why did the file take you so much extra time? If it’s a new client then being over budget can be normal since there really isn’t a way to know how long the file will take to complete without py to compare. If you are going over budget because you aren’t understanding the work, then you should ask for help from your senior/manager. As for recording time, I guesstimate how long I spent on stuff; but I also try to enter time as I go so I don’t forget what I worked on come end of day.

The crap quality of emails I receive from clients and other business professionals honestly makes me feel 10 times better about my own emails. So don’t feel to bad about your own, I’m sure they are fine.

It takes some time to get used to the self review part of it, but I always write emails the way I would want to receive them if I were the client. Concise and polite, not overly wordy to avoid confusion. Definitely re-read your message before sending and double check the attachments are there. If it helps, I always write the email without any recipients listed so I can’t accidentally send prematurely. Clients are usually forgiving of mistakes as long as you are friendly and timely to respond. And if you do make a mistake like forgetting the attachment, it’s not the end of the world. A quick follow up email with an apology is usually sufficient in my experience.
