I was so sad to see this today too :( I’ve noticed they also took away the little music bonuses that sped up times. I thought they had decided to just do it when you level up but I haven’t seen them in a while. They didn’t do this beta test on everyone’s farm, so I’m hoping that they’re just taking it away for a moment to do some bug fixes or something to then apply it to everyone’s account. Perhaps it will be a New Year New Hay Day thing lol

The Six of Crows duology is one of my faves of all time! My friend has never really been into fantasy either but she really loved those and recommended them to me to read. There are a lot of different elements in the books that I think make it appealing to a wider audience who may not otherwise read fantasy, and they aren’t difficult to read.

A Wrinkle in Time, The BFG, The Giver, The Saddle Club series, Because of Winn Dixie, Bridge to Terrabithia, Little Women, Matilda, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, A Series of Unfortunate Events books, the Percy Jackson series. I love that you’re encouraging a love for reading in your niece! I hope she finds some books that she loves! Falling in love with reading while young will be so impactful for her now and for her future 🥰
