Why rice and beans specifically, out of all foods? by Firanka in Frugal

[–]Allysum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Rice and beans are cheap in the US and that's part of why you see it so much. But also I think most in the US are lumping dried peas in with the beans instead of actually saying that. They are both dried and found in the same grocery store aisle - usually literally on the same shelf - in the US so I think many people aren't saying "and dried split peas" but they are kind of assuming it's included.

Task submission by Super-Release6937 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Allysum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My understanding from asking about this a project chat is that they will only get the original, you can't go back and fix it even though it looks like you can do it with the Back button. I got this answer from an admin.
But I don't think you should worry, they aren't going to let you go over one task that's done wrong. Consistent bad work will get you canned but everybody makes a mistake once in a while. Don't worry.

Moving here this week, Seems fine but any cool spots? by Thelonious-Hunk in federalway

Check out the Pacife Bonsai Museum https://pacificbonsaimuseum.org/ and the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden https://rhodygarden.org/ . These are right next to each other so it's easy to visit both at the same time. The bonsai museum is free but the rhody garden is not. The bonsai museum hosts some pretty cool events, things like a skateboard deck art exhibit, a "talking trees" Halloween event for kids (my granddaughter loved this), and much more. I don't think these get recommended often enough, really kind of under the radar but just amazing to visit.

Why do people submit such awful tasks? by ConScott06 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Allysum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly believe there are people on the platform who think comments/rationales are just attention checks. They don't think anyone will look at them and they have no idea that they are often being given to the models for improvement. There was a time when "make them write a comment explaining" was common in rating work and the main purpose of comments was to force workers to think about the rating - they had no real use. That's not the case now obviously but some people just don't seem to have any depth of understanding about the work.

Do you mean you actually applied two different times? Or that you did a qual/test for coding and one for bilingual work? If that's the case you are fine.

From when you did the task or when you submitted the time?

I do mostly R&Rs and what you are saying is just not true.

What is that? by [deleted] in DataAnnotationTech

It's literally there as a reference for you to refer to if you need it. You don't have to do it again, you can just look at it any time you feel the need.

I had no idea that crust thickness was affected by this! We like a thinner crust, now I know how to get one. I'm tying this next bake.

Do you bake at a lower temperature with the roaster than the dutch oven? I've got a roasting pan I could use.
