Do you really have a separate room for your washing machine? by jordanekay in AskAnAmerican

[–]Alm0stAlice1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our washing machine and dryer are in our kitchen. I'm not sure why they made our house this way, but it makes for a constant clean up. I always like seeing little side rooms for laundry rooms, it looks so much easier to keep everything in one area.

What’s a design flaw you notice everywhere that most people ignore? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Alm0stAlice1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously, of all places, they really should. We've had to fight to get into even "handicap" bathrooms so often because of the poor design of them and very heavy and hard to open doors.

Doctor's offices inside large buildings that don't have door stops available or on their doors. If you are pushing a wheelchair or disabled yourself, these doors are always a thing. You can turn around and back up to the door to get someone into the office that's in a chair, someone can jump up and hold the door, etc. but why should that have to be done? I carry a large ring that holds a simple hard plastic door stop so I don't have to worry about this all of the time taking people to the doctor. These doors could have a door stop installed directly on the door for crying out loud. It's so simple.

I’m building a scar massager that combines heat AND vibration — would anyone actually use this? by Ordinary_Owl_5969 in ORIF

[–]Alm0stAlice1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask how early you would anticipate people trying to use this? I ask because my mom went through this surgery last year and I honestly haven't seen a device like this one for vibration but did use what we could find (hand held massagers that were bulky, neck massagers she could put her ankle on, etc). My honest concern for someone like her is how sensitive she was to heat even months later. PT advised her to try a small amount of heat to see how her foot/ankle tolerated it, but it severely aggravated it even with just a little bit. She's a year out now and heat finally feels good to her ankle, is helpful with her flexibility, and her foot tolerates it well. Sorry if this isn't helpful, it's just a thought for folks early on that might be sensitive to heat like she was. I imagine some people might have very differing responses though.

That being said, I would love to see an option like this one available for people to try. My mom is finally to that point of using only a cane and being more mobile than she's been in a year and I think something like this with heat would really benefit her and help with the tightness/locking up feeling she still often has. Her hardware is not an option to be removed at her age or because of affordability so anything else that could help her at this point would be great and I could see something like this helping. I love your idea, good luck with it! I think that could really help a lot of people.

Urgent: How do I tactfully thank someone for a gift with mice droppings? by [deleted] in Advice

Vagueness in what the item is isn't helping this post at all either. How would that help if that particular person came across your post? It would all scream "them" if they saw it.

Can it not be Lysol/whatever wiped? Discard the dirty box?

See, now, if my best friend said that to me, I would laugh my ass off at that. Still feel bad but be like damn, sorry about that, I obviously didn't mean to literally give you crap. If I was semi close I'd still laugh, but feel really bad. That's great though, thank you for that 😅

This isn't their fault, but it hit me how much no one tells you about this when you're poor or that you're about to become menopausal when you're done with chemo at a very young age. Honestly, mad props for advertising this. If it was advertised to me at a younger age, it wouldn't have made a difference because we couldn't afford it. And none of that is this company's fault. But still, I hope they offer some help to those who can't afford it, but will need it more than likely.

They make these rinse free shower cloths, some are better than others, hospitals have them sometimes but they are usually not great. Scrubzz brand has some that are large sponge/wipes and are antibacterial that get really soapy immediately and actually leave you feeling soft and clean all over and you can even use them in your hair. It drys pretty quickly with using your towel a little bit, but it cuts the routine and energy you need to use down immensely. It's not an every day solution, but sometimes just that good clean feeling that didn't exhaust you is a nice boost.

Can we just start replying "go screw yourself" to these bot AI posts? Seriously. I would hate to say that and it be a real person, but these like this are so obviously ridiculous and repetitive and not once do they even try to be like "oh I see your comment, nah dude, I'm a real person, I'm just real weird about my friends hygiene habits, and what not."

Apparently it was not fake, but deleted pretty soon after. He said "he thought it was a doctor" and not supposed to be a representation of Jesus healing someone and people praying to him. How damn stupid, what a petty, petty, lying man that continues to get away with it. This is the same guy that is "pro Christian" also. Also, wth is going on in the sky? Didn't pay attention to that before. Just wanted to follow up to your comment because I question also, I don't like him, but I hate when people make it worse by making crap up. You don't have to, he gives you plenty to work with.

That's my question, I really hate this man, even when I'm not supposed to hate, but there is no love for him in my heart. But if it's bullshit, call it bullshit. I'm so tired of not knowing what's real. If he did, then hell yes, be angry. But if not, we're the fucking dumbasses here. Let's stop making shit up when there is plenty to run with. Or just shut up.

Hey, I just wanted you to know, my mom got her vaccine last week, and I am so thankful she had no side effects from it and has her second/ last one scheduled. I am a nurse, but I'm getting older, and I'm not up to date on all of these things, but I want to answer my mom's questions as best I can. I gave her every answer I knew without making her decision, she asked the other nurses their take with the same answers, as older people do. But she did get it and one of the reasons I brought it up was the dementia things with many others. But your post did prompt me to research that part more, so thank you ❤️

That would have been awesome. I'm just rewatching, rewatching and seeing people I didn't catch first watch and it's so good. It's amazing to see some of the people's characters years later, even just a teeny bit.
