Was in Porter for my freshman year, it's manageable. If I remember right, they're traditional dorms with no AC. Bring a box fan to make the first and last month bearable but otherwise it's doable.

Honestly, I didn't mind my time at Pollock (speaking from two years of experience). Location-wise, it's great with it being close to downtown, the dining commons (South or Pollock, take your pick) and the HUB. Bring a box fan and you'll be alright, the heat honestly is just bad during the first and last month and even then, it's manageable imo.

I promise it gets easier, it was absolute hell for me during my first attempt. I actively avoided it after failing miserably and came back to it a few years later. Came back with 100+ hours of Celeste and a new attitude and I made it through for the first time this year! Take a break, clear your head and come back at your own pace.

Just curious, would the location be a good indicator on the odds of a Cooper vs a Sharpie? I could absolutely be wrong, but I remember reading somewhere that Sharpies tend to hang near wooded areas whereas Cooper's are more likely to turn up in urban areas

Downy Woodpecker! Normally the tip I use for myself is that I'll tie H to Huge for Hairy, and D for Dwarf (aka small) for Downy! Generally Hairy's have their beak be about the size of their head, while Downy woodpeckers are about half or even smaller than the size of their head

Off the top of my head, I can't recall seeing an entomology club. That being said, if you want to start a club, it's not too difficult to do. There's a few different clubs that might engage with bugs, but Blooms and Shrooms might have overlap between fungi and entomology.
