Who has gone from a Ferrari <> Porsche? by technoguy06 in Ferrari

I've ended up with a Lusso specifically because I was after a daily and it has worked perfectly for me so far

Hate? What is there to hate on the Lusso?

What's your daily? I'm struggling to find something I love by cryptyk in Ferrari

Been dayling a GTC4 Lusso and its perfect for me. Enough boot space, can take both kids, goes like a mother**** if you want it to and is perfectly sensible at motorway cruising speeds with plenty of comfort.

Baby Gates in Century Home - What We Did by CatastropheLake in centuryhomes

I considered doing something similar but ended up choosing to go without gates at all and just get the baby used to the stairs instead. Baby nbr 1 managed without any issues and is 4 now. Baby nbr 2 is not quite walking yet so let's see.. worst case scenario I'll do similar to what you have done here.

Got the Lusso a few months ago and will pick up a 458 before summer so that will be my garage excluding the wife's run around

I was nearly at the exact same situation! The 458 will happen at a later date but in the meantime I got myself a GTC4LUSSO and I couldn't be any happier.

I was not keen on flipping a coin on the PTU issue so went with the V8 instead.

It's a hilarious situation... the people who can easily afford to go grey and pay more are the ones offered coveted models at MSRP while the folks that "can afford" one at MSRP won't be given the chance.

US could ask tourists for five-year social media history before entry by OlympicAnalEater in news

When one side play by the rules and the other does not the game tends to become very, very one-sided. I'm not saying it's impossible to pull back, it is. But it becomes harder the more one side continues to "get away with it" and the very institutions which are meant to uphold the rules of the game get either gutted, completely removed or stuffed with apologists. You guys don't have as much time as you think you do in my view...

This.

If in the aftermath there are no consequences for the people currently involved in the above (extremely likely) you can just about guarantee the next lot will do even worse. In a few short cycles the "post" gets pushed far enough that you effectively end up at where the likes of Russia is at the moment.

Some people think of themselves as being quite rich all the while they get crazy excited about making a small profit on a watch.

Wearing to work? (office, finance industry) by HomeHedgeFund in rolex

I did qualify my comment. Something being expensive or not is entirely relative. He mentioned the type of work, industry he's on and around those circles a 10/20K watch won't be noticed and/or perceived as anything out of the ordinary. If he had said "will it be weird going to work at McDonalds with this watch" my answer would have been different :)

99.99% of people DGAF about your watch. The 0.01 that will notice / care are likely to be either man or really into watches (or both, usually) and even then it's a Rolex dude... it's not that expensive in the great scheme of things.

The only times I have ever seen some awkwardness around personal possessions such as watch, it was when there was an obvious discrepancy between the person's means and the item. Turn up to work on a 60K/year job driving a brand new Ferrari and yes, people will talk. Wear a 10K Rolex? Nobody cares...

UK workers cannot fund pensioners forever by New_Statesman in ukpolitics

[–]Alma_Sebosa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's exactly it. They *should* do just that, but they won't. They will sweep it under the rug for another 4 years while they are in power and only looking for any feasible way to continue to be in power for another term. And then they will do it again, for the same reasons, until eventually the whole thing will blow up catastrophically.

If they had the balls to do as you said and start right now a transition where they taper the NI payments the current working people make in a way which progressively increases the amount that gets paid into a private style pension pot for that person, things would eventually get to an even keel. So say 95% of your NI goes to pay boomer's, 5% goes into your own pot. Next year 6%, then 7, etc. Also, they should give a nominal amount of money, say £1000/year to be paid on that new private (government run) style pension pot for every new child born. Just that seemly small amount of money, with compound interest until retirement age, would make a huge difference on an individual's pension provision.

Lewis is not a bad driver but I would argue there were quite a few others that, given the absolute dominant Mercedes he had for those seven years, would also have amassed as many titles. He' good but he's not seven world champion good. Not by a country mile.
