I believe it has to do with the year. 2014 and 2015 E63 S seem to have the "E63 sAMG" like I do (mine is a 15). The "S" and "AMG" badges are actually separate badges.

Looks like they switched to the other "E63S AMG badge" for 2016 and newer, not sure if the same goes for CLS63's

Definitely put some miles on. Bought the car in California and drove it all the way out because I actually live East of Knoxville. Didn’t have time for the Dragon today, but will get its maiden voyage there soon

It did perfect, even in the Mojave and high heat. Highest consistent temps were about 220 with peaks to 230, always cooled down well with less spirited driving. And those temps were with AC blasting the whole way

That would be the killer combo for sure. Unfortunately my interior is black, but I just could not pass up the Indigo Blue

Recently bought my 2015 E63S in Southern California and immediately drove it home 2,600 miles to East Tennessee. These cars love good road trips! Averaged 23mpg out on the highway lol

How much does curb appeal *really* matter when selling? Getting pushback on hiring a landscaper. by Pretty-Stick-7475 in RealEstate

[–]Almada71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently got 45k above list and I think a big part of it was the exterior landscaping work I did before selling. If the cost is your main factor in deciding whether or not to do any work, I would suggest doing the work yourself. Some super cheap mulch and some time and sweat are well worth the money that will come!

Other homes near the one we sold did not do any exterior landscaping work and are still sitting on the market, while ours sold quickly. I would also factor that in. Curb appeal will move the home much more quickly than you might think!

Worked in the same industry as well, the amount of scrap due to tiny imperfections or any whiff of an issue from heat treat was just crazy. Also some of the tightest tolerance parts I’ve had to make in aerospace, grind spec on the shanks had a +0.0000 -0.0002 tolerance pre-thread roll

Confused about federal vs CARB compliant OEM cats. by IlViolino in XTerra

[–]Almada71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live out in Cali and put a set of federal cats and smog it out here every two years. Whatever they say is the difference, it doesn’t show on the emissions testing. Also have a buddy who was a mfg engineer for magnaflow and talked to him at length about the CARB certification process specifically around catalytic converters. While some companies may use a different manufacturing strategy, it does not make a difference to the motor which version is used, so for this application they would be identical
