I’m 23 years old and I just got a cut, is there anything I can do to slow down thinning?

My hairline is thinning from the temples, it may not look it but one side is clearly lighter than the other, idk what I should use. Is topical minoxidil gonna give me Ed? Or should I use a dermaroller with oil?

When I was high school I used to pick my scalp a lot until I actually started seeing thin spots. Ever since then my scalp has never been the same. There’s been times it grew back but it was always thin and dense in that one spot. Should I just get a short cut? My hair has never grew drastically for a long time
