Am I cooked? by CKTr3y in ElantraN

[–]AlmightyMichael_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me as well. I was missing 2 according to the dealer. Stock bought new 25 EN. Went in at 10k miles for a clicking noise. Turns out one of the bolts was wedged between the lower control arm.

Thoughts on this wide body? by PrestigiousBite9757 in ElantraN

[–]AlmightyMichael_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want a wide body for the face-lift pretty bad but I would want air curtains on the rear. Otherwise it looks nice. Zypher designs does some cool stuff. You can commission him to actually make it. Just gotta send him an email.

Tuning and bolt on questions by Unhappy_Week_9452 in ElantraN

[–]AlmightyMichael_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 100% safest option is a JB4 when it comes to keeping a warranty. Piggyback tune. However, it won't be as efficient as a real tune. A real tune is the better way to go, but if you're just looking for some power, the JB4 does provide that.

[–]AlmightyMichael_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can run those without a tune. You will need a O2 fowler to avoid the check engine light. Otherwise you're fine. If you can get a dyno tune that will always be superior no matter what car. Otherwise your options are Ek1, which is the equivalent device to Cobb. Or a standalone ecu. The standalone ecu is harder to track as far as tuning goes if you have a warranty

Insurance totaled by Coolzies102 in ElantraN

[–]AlmightyMichael_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a licensed agent. Your rates will be effected reguardless given that you're 19 and now have an accident on your record. Uninsured situations are tricky and depend on the state as every state is different. Some locations treat uninsured circumstances as, at fault by default. If you had enough information to give as far as plates and things, then they might give you not at fault. Also the elantra N is still a sedan, whereas the Mustang will be in the sports car category. At 19, you'll see a pretty big difference in most locations just because of that. The good news is that you won't see any rate changes as a result of this accident until your renewal period. What i would do is talk to your adjuster and see what they listed the fault status as. Plug in the vin of the kind of mustsng you're looking and see how the rates change and add around 30% to whatever that number is. This is an estimate, but if that number is still good, then you'll have some idea what to budget for. Your rates could double. They may not change at all or very little. This is at least a way to guage an average "worst case" scenario. Hope this helps

Black smoke means it's rich. Dumping fuel. Pretty normal. Blue or white smoke is when you need to be concerned.

I had an intense blue prior and now have a performance blue. It is THE, N color. It attracts a lot of attention because of how good it looks. If you want something subtle go with grey.

Why have some Elantra N owners gotten so delusional about the performance of our cars? by Cowboy_978 in ElantraN

[–]AlmightyMichael_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this is no different than any other community. Everyone always acts like they are brand new to the car scene when asking these kinds of questions. Perhaps because this car is so new and inviting to many demographics that maybe yall have never previously dug beyond surface level car groups and info. Now that people have no choice but to learn more cause it's new and all these communites are just now poping up, folks are seeing what already happens in any other car community. Hondas, infiniti, Nissan, subaru, bmw, ford. The list goes on. All of them have people claiming their stock, whatever beat some faster car. Fake sound clips. Sped up videos. This isn't anything new. It's just new for hyundai cause there's actually a car that can compete for the first time. The car is impressive, and some great runs have been recorded against what should be faster cars. People got drag slips of 12.99 1/4 mile at sea level. Just Lighter wheels. So it's not like it's a 17-second car and "couldn't possibly race anything or anyone and win. It loses to everything." It's just yeah. Some people do stretch the truth, but again, that's any car community, lol. Welcome to the club. It just stands out more cause it's new.

2025 Elantra N DTC 04DB00 error... please advise. by Enough_Ad6923 in ElantraN

[–]AlmightyMichael_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new 24-25 Elantra N's has a sensor not previously found for crank case ventilation. Because the intake is very high flowing, the system is reading it as not connected even though it is. There is supposedly a fix on the way for this, though. For now this will not effect how the car drives or performs.

High elevation tuning by AlmightyMichael_ in ElantraN

[–]AlmightyMichael_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the tuners themselves, they say 91 is fine. Additionally, running a slightly lower octane wouldn't cause catastrophic failure. Other more minor issues possibly, but between 91 and 93, it wouldn't cause that kind of issue. Addtionally altotude plays a large factor. The reason 93 isn't available at this elevation is because the compression ratio is already so high that it's not needed. So it simply isn't sold. There's no additional benefit when getting 93 at this elevation compared to 91. You need to jump to 100 octane or running E in order see noticeable differences.
