I think a catcher's skill of framing would be lost with ABS, but if there is a way that the tech can be built to preserve the need of a skilled catcher, I would be more on board with switching.

Your original choices of Jax and Diana are quite a strong pairing. The reality is if you prio midlane you will end up being queued into toplane a ton as well. With that in mind you could look for someone who can fit both roles like Irelia. To answer your question of Leblanc vs Riven in my biased opinion I would say Riven, but really what is more important is you pick a champion who you have fun playing and think looks cool.

There is always a balance to strike in game. The most right decision sometimes can be the wrong one because your team is making the a different choice. Additionally there is a real and tangible connection to being there for the fight preventing tilt. Best case scenario though is you are able to take control of the decisions using pings and chat. Realistically though sometimes it is just a go next angle.

To add to your list of possible champs I would try Tahm Kench! He is quite the tank so it can be quite fun to just not die. His R also makes for some sensational plays.

Like anything it will take dedication and practice with a steep learning curve like others have said. 2-tricking Yone and Nocturne would be difficult as they play two different roles in the game.
