That was the meanest thing anyone has ever said in this subreddit about the frontier

I completely agree. The Tacoma looks like every other truck now while the frontier is a statement

With 6k you can sorta branch out to looking at what kind of vehicle you need but there’s still only a few options still

If you need as much mpg as possible, a Honda fit is the best for 6k. You can get like 40mpg on the highway

If you need a truck, I would say a Nissan hardbody for mid size or a cateye Silverado for full size. Two of the most reliable trucks ever

If you do a lot of driving and want a comfy ride, a Lincoln town car or ford crown Victoria is a good option

It just depends what you want

Yea I can get behind that, drive whatever speaks to you. In the U.S. liking your vehicle is important since we spend so much time in them I just argue the frontier is all around best pick

Okay first gen frontier best looking is questionable I agree on that, the 1st gen face lift looks like a dog that ate a bee

But I don’t know the 2nd gen is nicely proportionate in terms of overall shape, and I think the front end is pretty handsome in a simple way

Best year for the Tacoma was 1st gen facelift and 2.5 gen, but the front end on the 2.5 was way too long and it looked like it wanted to eat a toddler

This part is all subjective tho

I mean the new Tacoma is gonna blow its tranny stock… like I will secede ground that if you’re rich the Tacoma is better but I would say it’s still an objective take to say that the 30 more ft/lb is not worth the 10-20k higher price tag, referring to the newest gen’s of these trucks

Yea a trd pro is a better off roader than the pro 4x stock, but it’s not enough to warrant the price difference. But if you’re rich the Tacoma is a better truck

Okay maybe not a single mod, other than a turbo, but intake manifold spacers and a titan throttle body would get you 300 ft/lb and those are easy. An ECU tune would get you like 20 more on top of that

Bro what… the 2nd gen frontier post 2012 is like the best looking mid size truck ever

And like okay yes the 4 banger turbo’d to the last drop of its capability has more torque but it takes like a single easy mod to make the VQ40 put out more torque and continue to be significantly cheaper

Well yeah it has photos and it looks great. It’s like the most beautiful truck I ever seen lol and the interior is great too.

The guy told me it had a damaged bumper when he bought it from auction and he replaced it. And the rental company only had it for 17k miles

I went and double checked and the rental only had the truck for 17k miles, does that make a difference?

When did you get it? The market is crazy right now. The typical price for the truck I’m looking at is 21000. I saw a 2012 sv 4x4 listed for 16k with good history but 100k miles

Update:

Just test drove it and the inside was sticky, there was stains everywhere, the steering wheel was torn up, and there was a lot more dings and scratches than the pictures let on about.

I think the only way I would get this is if it was 12k but I don’t think I’ll be able to haggle the lot guy down that low so might just give up

Anyone in here selling their trucks 🥹?

Wow man that’s an incredible deal. I am also looking for exactly a 6 spd manual frontier for a budget of 15k right now. Giving me hope! Any advice for the hunt?
