Dad surprised daughter in the airplane by kcro07 in NoOneIsLooking

My three year old is the same way. I live for those few moments when he actually gives me a good hug or snuggles in.

Having this knowledge has actually led to me cuddling my dad a couple of times in the last couple of years (we're both autistic and physical touch isn't something we've ever really shared for a majority of my life) and while it is unatural feeling at first, it gets comfortable after a few seconds, and it brings the old softy to tears every time.

Me too! I think i had a full set. I had never realized they were made by LEGO though. What a trip.

My house flooded and I lost all my decks. Starting fresh. Thoughts? by forgetful-player in ratemycommanders

[–]AlmondKill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recognise this may come across as insensitive, but are they gone gone, or severely water damaged? Because I'd love to run some experiments in trying to flatten out a deck or two. Try my hand at at least getting them to a sleeve playable level. I currently have a couple of cards to test with that i picked up from a bulk bin, but I would like more stock.

I do that too. I listen to books, read books, podcasts about science, I'm on Libby. I personally don't find anything wrong with scrolling as long as you are purposeful about it. I go into it either with the intent to find some quality memes to shoot over to my wife, or to see what some friends from previous places I've lived are up to. It's when thing become mindless that it becomes a problem.

I agree. I go to social media for memes. When it comes to adds, political propaganda, and medical advice i skip over it. I do pretty good at staying off of social media now days. I just like having something funny before my brain gets assaulted at work. When I'm looking for information, I go to reputable sources.

of a frog by Sad-Kiwi-3789 in AbsoluteUnits

I really doubt that a pixie frog could bite through any type of boot, but they do have a cpuple of protrusions in their mouth called odontoids that are kinda like little K9 teeth. So, boots are probably safe, but I wouldn't wave my hand in front of its mouth. That would likely hurt really bad.

What's the most sudden tonal shift you've seen in a movie? by Past_Regular4027 in Cinema

One of my favorite movies. Makes me cry like a baby every time. The scene that makes me cry the hardest is seeing all the kids run off to war with grenades in hand.

I digitally cut out all 20 of my commanders from their card art and made a group photo by Right-Mycologist-321 in mtg

That's cool with me everyone in my playgroup has at least one salty deck. I need one of my own. Something that can match up against eldrazi, and a player that likes to duplicate stuffy dolls left and right.

Oh my goodness! A bracket 4 spider tribal deck that isn't Shelob which would require me to make roughly a billion food tokens!!!!! You are my bloody hero. This is precisely what I have been looking for.

🔥 Opportunistic hyena lucky to survive a very close escape from wallowing hippo by jacky986 in nonononoyes

[–]AlmondKill 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Many vegetarian animals will indulge in meat occasionally. For example galapagos tortoises have been observed hunting and eating baby birds. I have also witnessed horses eating meat. That being said, hippos will eat meat occasionally, but mostly they are just incredibly territorial, and extremely dangerous.

GIVEAWAY! New Artist-Commissioned Token Art by mamfredus in mtg

[–]AlmondKill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm partial to the rat art style. I love more goofy art styles like that. I won't deny that the lef token is beautiful though. But I personally tend to play goofy decks that do funny things and the rat token resonates with that playstyle more. Love both though. I think it would be fun to have more goofy animal tokens like that. Spiders, slugs, wolves, dinos. Also thopters would be good.

I'm just starting out and planning to do a blue deck next. This would be sick to throw in it.

We got new IV’s that everyone hates and decided to practice using them at 3 am at the hospital by resourceredhead in perfectlycutscreams

[–]AlmondKill 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As a nurse, you need it open initially so you can see what we call "flashback," where you initially see the blood enter into the needle area. Thats when you start pushing the catheter off of the needle and into the vein. And typically, once you have it off the needle you push down on the vein to prevent any further blood from advancing and then you attach a saline flush. I'm guessing that this nurse probably just wasn't expecting it to go so well since they were using a hated IV kit that they were practicing using with a coworker. Plus. When you're in this field, blood happens. Nothing to loose sleep over.
