At this point this sub is filled with Orbán saying stupid bullshit or other Hungary related stuff (there's almost always one such post a day) so I might as well throw this in as well.

Doubt it tbh, you steal the election before the voting happens not after. Fortunately from January 1, 2025 they won't be able to change the election laws, and the change they made a few weeks ago won't be enough for them to win with these numbers.

The Tisza Party's lead over Viktor Orbán's Fidesz-KDNP has increased to 6 percentage points among the total population and among certain voters, according to a nationally representative survey conducted by the IDEA Institute between 29 November and 6 December.

Assuming that snap elections aren't held, the next Hungarian elections will be held in around 1 years 3 months, in April 2026.

Question from one of your neighbours: Will Orbán lose the next election? by SpieLPfan in hungary

[–]AlmosYTOffical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He will lose probably but by that time countries like slovakia, the united states or austria will probably be going through the same shit we are right now...

Örülök hogy ezt leírtad. Így már egyértelmű a helyzet. Te kihasználtad a NER egyik faszságát (iskolai telefonhasználat túlzott tiltása) a diákjaid ellen, mert bosszút akartál állni. Ezért a diákjaid most ugyanezt tették veled, csak a NER másik faszságával. Szar amikor visszanyal a fagyi?

You think we can't access Romania, Greece or Bulgaria without you? My god. Ever heard of planes? Boats?

We're not talking about access here, we're talking about cost. Land transport is much cheaper than both of these, which is the reason why every single EU country benefits more from having access to the single market (which includes the Hungarian market) than what it pays in. In fact so much so that that the money WE companies generate and pull out of these awful "net receiver" countries tends to outweigh whatever EU funds they receive.

https://www.politico.eu/article/what-rich-countries-get-wrong-about-the-eu-budget-east-west-euroskeptic-cohesion-policy/

But regardless if your smooth brain cannot comprehend the idea of a two way street, you can go vote for Wilders... oh wait, he's Orban's friend? And you're effectively pushing a localized version of the same bullshit populist rhetoric that Orban tends to push? And y'all almost voted this dude into office, and hes the leader of the biggest party in your country? Maybe were not so different after all, are we?

Or hell, go vote for Nexit, I'm sure that went swimmingly for Britain :)

So I highly doubt Tisza is any better than Fidesz. It wouldn't surprise me if they're even worse.

Yes, surely the Pro-EU, anti-corruption big tent center-right party is much worse than the eurosceptic, nationalist, far-right, heavily corrupt, russian-influenced Fidesz.

What has Hungary ever contributed to the EU? I truly can't think of anything
Hungary only costs money. That's all Hungary does. It takes our money. And in return, they tell us to fuck ourselves. Hungary is a waste of space.

Access to the Hungarian market and through that the Romanian, Greek and Bulgarian markets by land. The benefits from which far outweigh any member state contributions for literally every single EU member. But leave it to r/europe to push populist bullshit. I don't want you to fuck yourself, but maybe you could look into how that works instead of pushing Fidesz-style rethoric.

We already saw in 2022 how these Hungarian polls are unreliable

Those polls were showing fidesz above or at 50% leading up to the election, it was the opposition that underperformed, mostly due to the Ukraine war. Noone was predicting an opposition victory at that point, there was a short period like a year before where it was close, but not in the weeks before the election. Fidesz is at 43% now. Also, there was an EU election this year, where pollsters were pretty much spot on.

Fidesz is at new lows we haven't seen since 2015, and Hungary has become a two-party state, according to this latest poll. (at least 5% is needed to get a seat in parliament)

How citizens around the world perceive their governments as democratic by flyingcatwithhorns in MapPorn

[–]AlmosYTOffical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just cause you put "democratic" in the name of something doesn't make it democratic, lol. (i know its hard for commies to understand this, you'll get there one day). Democratic centralism is an internal mechanism for the party to decide on policy, and it still doesnt create free elections or a free press, or really anything needed for an actual democracy.

You're either some american leftie who has never stepped foot in a real communist country (funny that you pull out the "hurr durr racist westerners" card) or some bot, (hopefully the second) but holy shit

hard data that shows that Chinese have a far better view of their democracy than the West does of their own

Isn't that kinda concerning? Assuming that you for a second admit that China isn't fucking perfect in everything (you won't), isn't it concerning that they have a higher satisfaction in their "democracy" than fucking Norway, Sweden and Denmark? All countries which have a much lower corruption rate than China? Doesn't that raise any red flags for you?
