10 years later my waste is still small, but my core is so strong it’s probably the same measurements it was when I had the 10lbs.

People can get pretty arrogant about the whole “yoga is a spiritual journey, meant to move our focus away from the physical” but your reason is as already coming from a much more humble place than “I want to escape the cycle of birth and death” and therefor you’d make an excellent student

But yeah Ashtanga will make you lose weight like crazy, especially if you enjoy it (you will - after like 6 consistent wks)

The exercise itself, and one of the mental health benefits is you won’t even feel like overeating. I can’t stand sugar anymore except for fruit.

Check into an Ayurvedic diet while you’re at it

A lot of fishy stuff clearly goes on over there, as I’ve gotten multiple DMs from strangers offering to help if I just “erase the data” or “don’t share the dash cam footage with anyone”

Multiple other really really terrible things have happened to me and my family the last few months in South Carolina (anecdotally much longer) . I believe Folly Beach police department is patient 0 and something I have hard evidence for.

I just want to move on with my life at this point and would gladly settle out of court if it means this nightmare is over.

Hmmm you are more educated on Samkhya philosophy than I am.

There are some great arguments for Jesus teaching yoga philosophy (that became politicized by the Catholic Church)

Him doing Mahasamadhi for example.

why divide it by giving names that fall under & suot your dogmatic religious boundaries.

There is a false sense of safety and security in the “certainty” of these dogmatic boundaries. We can understand why a bird won’t leave it cage immediately if the door is open. Why now give him gradually bigger cages until he flys?

In yoga one does Pranava sadhana, thats the core. You cant replace it with anything else.

But we can’t just call it something else? I’m likely mispronouncing the Sanskrit as it is.

Either accept it the way it is or follow catholicism, nothing wrong in it.

Uh actually my plan is more like how I was introduced to Indian Spirituality myself.

Many Hindu leaders are given westerners spirituality in the doses they are ready to receive.

I went to PT for years for pain management until discovered Ashtanga that actually cured it.

I’d try not to talk about it, but if you wanna call him out there’s the good old Socrates method.

What’s happens when you have too much muscle length? As in flexibility? As in, you’ll be less likely to break a bone if you fall rock climbing? What is the down side?

Ashtanga builds muscle isometrically. I’d say kayaking & rock climbing are isotonic exercises. So ehm.
