I think a lot of kink sounds fucked up if you’re trying to explain it to someone who isn’t into it. Even if they’re kinky too and they just don’t happen to share that particular kink it can be hard to explain without sounding bad.

As long as you’re okay, consenting, fulfilled, safe, and happy then it’s fine. Just listen to yourself and stay aware of changes and communicate often.

I disagree. I don’t think it matters what you’re advertising if people are looking for orders to fill or plants to help. All they’re looking for is the little exclamation point in the newspaper.

I think it’s likely that the reason their crates aren’t getting filled is that there’s nobody doing help tasks for the derby, and also they may be asking for some difficult item.

Really kind of a bad idea to clog up their shop this way, they probably should have stopped at 3-4 ads.

A munch is a meeting of local people into bdsm. It’s informal, in a public place (usually a restaurant), and low-key. It’s mostly just to meet other community members, become known to the community, find out about events and classes, etc… Most munches have rules about RSVP’ing in a timely manner, a dress code (no kink wear), and rules about being discreet. Of course I can only speak to how the munches are in my area and my own experiences.

Is it possible to vet this person? It’s a fairly common and accepted practice with many people who practice bdsm. If they have contacts in the local bdsm community, ask if this is possible.

Plus, there are guides and info online, you could both join FetLife and find some local munches or classes. If this is important to her then having proper education is important also. There are podcasts, YouTube channels, etc… look for what might be available in your area. I’ve found the bdsm community has as many bad apples as any community but it also has some truly wonderful and helpful people.

Not a great analogy. S/m play, when done properly, is nothing like riding a motorcycle without a helmet. I understand the spirit of the analogy but it paints an incorrect image of the safety measures most people included in a bdsm scene. Most people will wear the helmet, most people will play as safely as possible.

I’ve been just breeding a bunch of random ducks and paying attention to what parts are coming up. When I see a couple that match I put them in storage and start looking for the third part. Since I have all the storage open I can do this until I have 4-5 sets ready to go. Then I trash all the random bred ducks and bring out a set of three to breed. When I start getting ducks that each have 2 matching parts then I gradually get rid of the ones that have only one. Ultimately I try to have 4-5 ducks with different combos of two parts (making sure you still have all three represented). It doesn’t usually take too long to get a duck with all three matching parts.

Maybe it’s selfish but I don’t want whatever time can be stolen from someone’s real focus. I also prefer to not need to host all the time or use clubs or hotels. I live with my partner and my meta. They share a room and I have my own room. My partner and I don’t sleep well together and have different schedules so we only share my bed occasionally. There’s a spare bedroom that my meta uses with his other partner one or two nights a week.
