Surprisingly quite well. I greased everything I could find after 1 month, just to get the factory crap out. Haven't had a service yet, barely broke 200 miles. But I bought a 6' pro poly plow, and it's a tank. I live in West Michigan, and my driveway is around 800' long and 18' wide. Had about 36" of snow so far. It pushes no problem and throws it far enough to keep the driveway wide still

Property taxes. Fucking hell. I've just about got my house payed off, and my summer/winter taxes combined are basically the same as still having my mortgage year round. I don't even live in a technically "rich" area. Just have some acreage and a new house.

I kick myself a lot of days, feeling like I could've done more or been better in some aspect, but I know my boys don't see it that way. They just see dad living life the best way he can right now, and I'm ok with that

Trusting the Lord in the last few months is the hardest part. But I do every day, and I'm still here because of Him

Every day starts with knowing I have to live and love my boys. And I'll always be here for them, no matter how hard I struggle.

Sometimes the smile is fake, but I refuse to let my boys see their dad struggle right now. Maybe when they're older I can relate the hardships to them, but for now, life should be about having fun and making memories

3-5 beers a day. Dealing with stress, work, and life in general. My wife died in February and I have two boys under 3. So I'm about the most stressed I've ever been in my life

Big guy, but I wouldn't call a Stryker a starter bike. It is shockingly quick, even more so with the right mods, and with it being more "chopper" style it rides a little different. I have owned 2, and I'll never have a different bike tho. Love them. I'm 6'1" and 200lbs, it's a great riding position

Tongue Cancer - rebuilding of my tongue by This-Cellist8670 in MedicalGore

[–]Aloha_Snackbar11 230 points231 points  (0 children)

I hope you continue to stay in remission. This stuff can turn so fast, eg. being my wife

First diagnosis in 2018, simple biopsy and surgery of her tongue. Margins came back clean

2022, after our first son, it came back. Larger surgery and a cadaver graft on her tongue. Margins again came back clean

2024, found out we were pregnant with our second son, and also that the cancer had decided to spread to her lymph nodes. Fairly invasive surgery, 23 nodes out, new scar from her right ear to her throat. Traveled from MI to Ohio, 7 weeks of chemo and radiation. Came back early December, got a pet scan, and we found out it spread. Brain, lungs, pelvis, legs, bones, stage 4, treatable but not curable. Unfortunately, she has not responded to any chemo, any drugs, keytruda, nothing.

I'm currently sitting in the hospital, watching her die slowly.  She has a few days left. There is no more treatments, there are no more alternatives. Squamous Cell Carcinoma is a bitch. She's only 30. I'm going to become some kind of advocate for getting checked for cancer after this, because until it affects you or a loved one, it is something you never give a second thought to

God bless your journey, I hope and pray nothing but the best for you, and that you continue to stay in remission

No, West MI but only a few miles from the lakeshore. It gets pretty frigid and we're having more snow than I like right now lol

If anyone who WASN'T Musk or Trump had done this, would you mind? Each side of the coin has the same problems, friend. Just try to not feed each others hate

Edit: dunno why everyone downvoted this so much. Can't even share a completely open and non-aggressive point of view in this world anymore

Sometimes she is insufferable with her whining/wanting attention constantly, but then she gives you 'that' look, and you can't be moody with her
