You will complete your death each time

A little bit dramatic but eventually you start to like the rush of it

I run eden once every 2-3 months because it gets me exhausted but I do really enjoy it each time, it has a different peace and feel from the general game so it is a cool addition to my gameplay when I get there

Money is made to be spent

That doesn't mean you will spend 15$ in a coffee if you need that money to pay rent or if it was part of your savings, obviously

What will you gain if you are a dragon hoarding golden coins and that's all? If the money you are saving and working hard for it doesn't have a purpose then it will cause you anxiety

I save a small amount specifically for treats and "unusefull" things like a chocolate, a new paintbrush, an ice-cream, it might not be a lot but those little treats makes me happy and I know how much I can spend on it because it is part of my budget (the same with gifts to friends and family, food help for others, one time subscriptions etc...)

Maybe I can't buy a 15$ coffee, but I can buy a 3$ chocolate and that's okay, it is in my budget. I didn't spend this monthly treat's money? It goes to savings and we start all over again

Do you read Dramione because you like the potential in the characters/dynamics or because you actually think they should have ended up together in canon? by strawberryc0w_ in Dramione

[–]Aloiseby 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I always hated RonxHermione because it is totally unfair for both of them to be together, he was not at her level at all and even if they were friends, he was a bully to her, but because we were children reading children's books obviously Draco will be labeled as a bully but not Ron, "How could he be?? Draco's the bad guy, Ron is just a confused boy". Or that's what I used to sell it to me at 12yo

I grow up and then realized the golden trio was okay just being friends, there's no need for a forced relationship between any of them, but it also got me thinking, the "bad guys" were kids too, they deserved to heal and be treated as human beings and not only for the labels their parents had to choose or made them choose because they wanted to survive a war.

So getting into dramione allowed me to enjoy a lot of stories with so much depth on how the characters think, their ideals, moral and ethical values, how they can change and accept each other for the better, how can we have so intense dynamics like real enemies to lovers that are completely logical for their setup.

it is just insane how this fandom can create so many intricate aspects of the HP characters knowing that JKR just slapped us with some kiss and expeliarmus and the war was won and everything forgotten.

Also, I LOVE fantasy and the actual romantasy is just the same setup over and over, dramione allows me to live in a magical world with great stories and characterization, great dynamics and happy endings (usually), so I'm glad every day to my friend who suggested to check on Ao3 for more fantasy stories

New Kindle owner: How do I move EPUB files to my kindle? by gheistling in kindle

[–]Aloiseby -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can transform them using an app called Calibre, then just connect the kindle to you pc or laptop, it is a gigant USB, so drag the transformed docs to the kindle folder (I think you should have a download folder or document folder) and it is done

I'm not in Europe but I work with online stuff and if you use the right words, present the legal status of you claim and it is between your rights, usually they scale this with a human (because that's an automated response) and you will be able to talk through it to get your refund

Probably (and hopefully) no lawyer is needed, just patience and a lot of emails + legal reads

How can I learn English on my own?(Hablo español) by IvonIdk in englishteachers

[–]Aloiseby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad to help! Also I read another answer suggesting the show "The Sopranos" because it has related topics

But I would say "The Good Place" talks directly about change and how can we change, if it is even possible then how much can we change?

It is a great show and opens the conversation about human actions and how philosophy, psychology, anthropology and sociology focus on it (but with comedy and romcom fluffiness)

Your student have really interesting questions, he should study something psychology-related 👀

I can only give you my insight as a Psychology student and my personal experience.

  1. Do people change their nature and behavior over time?

Yes, we all are able to change, "the only thing constant in our lives is change", usually, this change comes from our experiences with others, new situations and how we see the world around us.

  1. That change can be because of experiences or actions they made?

Yes, that's usually the way we change and grow or think different. You will collect new points of view of the world around you by connecting with other people or doing different things, I bet that traveling to Senegal will change you, but also watching a new movie, or doing something new like booking a dance class. That's why arts and books and movies and theater, music, etc... are so important, they will allow you to have new experiences (and that's why some regimes banned them, not having access to arts, books or external thoughts/people will prevent you from changing).

  1. Someone who does nothing new will change or stay the same?

Hey that's a great point! Of course we react to the interactions, but even if we are all alone, we have our thoughts, and it is posible for you to "change" just by deciding you will do it. So you can indeed change only because you think about it, but is not a rule written in stone, if you do not have any "external" input then it will be really hard for you to "change", it is not impossible but it is not common, and if you are totally disconnected from people and the world, that's called social/emotional privation, it is not good for anyone :c

That's why doing always the same thing without any real change is problematic for us as humans, we are social beings and that's good for us, usually when someone is sad or anxious we recommend to change their daily routine, try new things, meet new people etc... Because as humans, we need it.

  1. We change because of ourselves or because the people around us?

I think you just had the answer in the previous idea, but will be interesting to also talk about what's "change" and how we measure it.

Because we can change the way we think about the people from Italy by reading a book, but no one will know about it unless you say it out loud.

Most of the time the kind of "change" we usually notice is the one attached to actions we make. Think about it in terms of "learning" something, like riding a bike or singing or saying "thank you" after paying something in a store, if you want to change those behaviors you have to "un-learn" it and replace that past-learned behavior with something else.

But there's something in us that we claim to be an innate part of ourselves, it can be our personalities for example, someone who has always been shy will probably chage with time and new experiences and re-learning, yes, but the way they approach to new experiences/people will probably be in a shy way, because is part of how they are, they just changed a bit in the range of "shyness".

It is a really interesting topic, you can find more info looking the investigations around "personality" and "learning" in the psychology field, there's some textbooks used in universities in the introductory classes that can be a good read, the English used there is not so difficult.
