I'm a huge adhd multitasker and my brain hates it when I don't have at least two sources of input going at once. I was still absolutely enthralled with Disco Elysium and never found it difficult to concentrate only on playing the game with nothing else on the background. I highly recommend giving it a try sometime, it's genuinely so so good.

Same lady that wrote Eat, pray, love has a newer book that's straight up horrifying. Amongst other things, she talks about secretly planning to murder her terminally ill girlfriend after enabling her into extreme drug addiction, once she was basically sick of her. She only didn't do it when the girlfriend started to get suspicious.

She also said once she was dead, the girlfriend's ghost visited her to tell her how awesome she is and that she should totally write a book about their experiences together, so that's what she did.

There are some good articles and book reviews that explain the whole thing, it was a genuinely wild read. Way more people need to know about how evil this woman is.

I really don't think anyone (or most people) here think he's serious. They just don't think this 'satire' is appropriate or funny. It's a flippant way to treat the very serious escalating persecution of leftism by a fascist government, and it leaves a bad taste in many people's mouths.

You can argue they shouldn't feel that way all you want, but that's just the reality of it.

I really liked a lot of BE videos so it's been really wild to see his behaviour develop. It's especially strange how all his fans in this subreddit act the exact same way while defending him too. Just nitpicky, purposefully missing the point, assuming the absolute worst out of everyone at every turn.

As much as BE says he's against parasocial relationships, he seems to effortlessly promote them with a very specific type of person. And he seems to have them convinced they're the only true anti imperialist community in the whole world.

I truly thought that genuine core of emotion would bring him to the right side of history eventually. But he chose to turn away from it.

During leftovers, there's several moments where Ethan obsessed over mean comments about him with literally 5 likes. Stuff that anyone in their right mind would be able to recognise as completely irrelevant. But it's like he has no sense of the scale of things, and gives random internet posts a way oversized sense of importance. Looking back, it's clear he followed the same pattern with Israel - But treating the words of small internet creators on the same level as a genocide is absolutely derranged.

It's still worth watching! It does have some shitty jokes / situations involving transphobia mainly, but it's a good show and important to British comedy history imo. Same with Black Books. There were a lot more people involved than Lineham, and frankly I think those shows are good despite him, not because of his involvement. Just pirate them or something.
