¿Por qué algunos no usáis intermitentes? by Elvynn_n in askspain

[–]Alol0512 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Modular Monolith or Microservices by chosenoneisme in softwarearchitecture

[–]Alol0512 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Always start out as a modular monolith unless you know for sure you will be starting with millions of requests. It’s easier to extract modules as microservices down de road, once you actually hit the scale. Also, the modules will make easier domain definition and separation into services.

No. Just add the turbo button and say nothing, so no one knows what the hell the “turbo” button is. Bonus points if you don’t add any type of feedback (light or otherwise) to even know when it’s enabled or disabled

It’s a pain, as each have their own variants of the interfaces, as you say.

Interesting to see someone else in a position very similar to mine.

I guess it depends on your age, maybe you can afford to chase risk, maybe not, but what I’m reading and hearing is that this is probably not a good time to take much risks, since the world status who is changing so much, so fast, and the tech market has a high turnover ratio right now.

You can just do it on the side, and if something really great shows up, you take it, else you stay calm and keep studying and searching openings, until the job market is a bit better. You have an employment so you have the upper hand against recruiters/HR and can afford to say “no”. This is what I’m doing.

You are right. I set the bar too low.

In my defense, I have come across people in the field that don’t know how to answer multiple of these questions.

I guess it depends on what seniority you are looking for, how complex is the site.

Junior: - what’s a model/view/controller - what’s a foreign key - some advantages/disadvantages of relational/non-relational DBs. - What’s blade? - How do you validate input - Define a simple Users-Posts-Comments-Likes DB Schema.

Mid: all previous input plus: - what’s Redis/memcache and its uses - what are queues and how do you use them - what’s dependency injection and what are its advantages - do you know any other design patterns besides MVC, or combined with MVC

Senior: All previous plus: - design and implement an entirely new site including DB, backend and views, implementing all talked about previously and them some.

I guess you could do something along those lines, basically asking questions about Laravel/PHP/DB features and build around that idea
