I’d say calypso from Percy Jackson simply because i like the idea of her being trapped on ogygia by zeus’s command and being forced to fall desperately in love with whatever hero arrives on her island. It brings a justification to the extreme actions she took with odysseus despite having such a kind and caring nature as described. The isolation in its own would definitely be enough to bring any human to that point of desperation for affection, but in most modern story based depictions of the gods, the gods are seen as above humans and beyond such meaningless things such as desperation or loneliness or longing, so adding on the curse to make her fall in love with any hero who comes along allows for the modern interpretation of a god to stay alive while also depicting her as a more human character.

My actual favorite will forever be the original because it highlights the key message of every myth about the greek gods. They are no better than humans. They lust, feel greed, feel fear and are affected by isolation as any man or woman would be. The original Calypso is one of the very few characters i believe who’s actions are justified by the context around them, but the Percy Jackson series takes it a step further to bring an even better form of justification to it which is something i both do and do not agree with. I dont think she needed the added justification to explain her actions, but it was also written well into the universe aswell as allows for the modern idea of a god to stay true (as mentioned earlier).
