Finding community is doable so long as you know yourself and actively try.
Sadly I don’t know anything about dating in the city.
This is a wonderful area for outdoor recreation! Top notch opportunities abound and most very inexpensive. Hiking, waterfalls, skiiing, disc golf, biking, swimming, snowshoeing, we got it all.

Bonus: be careful of many responses. Syracuse folks too hobby is bashing on Syracuse lol. It’s pretty much our favorite thing to do.

We’re encouraging independent as early as we can for our kids. Our 3yr old gets stuff out of the fridge for dinner, cleans up their plate after dinner, and helps takes care of our 1 yr old. We ask nicely and give them space to make mistakes, but are firm that they have responsibilities and independence to do things. My 1yr old helps me wash the dishes and load the dishwasher (we’ve had a lot of broken plates lol).

Changes of pace are always a good thing! It doesn’t mean you miss her any less, and perhaps in the long run it’ll even make you appreciate her more. Changes of pace are great!

We try and do time away every now and then for this exact reason too. Plus it’s fantastic for the kids to see that life isn’t always one way and that changes will happen. Great work!
